A packaged product, a method of manufacturing a package, and a method of dispensing a consumable substance from a package. The packaged product may include a flexible tube having a cavity and an opening that forms a passageway into the cavity. A cap may be detachably coupled to the flexible tube to close the opening. A flexible container may be positioned within the cavity of the flexible tube, and a consumable substance may be disposed within the flexible container, which can be completely sealed and free of openings prior to first use. Introduction of one or more drops of water into the first cavity through the opening in the outer container may dissolve at least a portion of the flexible container thereby forming a hole in the flexible container through which the consumable substance is configured to be dispensed.

Described herein is a sheet comprising: a multi-layer structure comprising: a plurality of layers including an uppermost layer and a lowermost layer, each of the plurality of layers having a molecular orientation that results in a stress value for each layer; wherein the stress value of at least two of the plurality of layers are non-zero and different from one another; and wherein the multi-layer structure has a net stress value that is less than the greater stress value of the plurality of layers.

Holographic laminate

Provided is a method for making barrier tube shoulders. The method includes forming a parison from a multi-layer laminated structure having an inner layer that faces an interior of the parison, an outer layer comprising an exterior surface of the parison, and an interdisposed layer between the inner layer and the outer layer, wherein the interdisposed layer is a flavor barrier layer. The method also includes providing an extrusion blow molding (EBM) mold comprising at least one cavity shaped as a barrier tube shoulder, positioning the parison in the EBM mold, and blow molding the parison such that the parison substantially conforms to the EBM mold to form a barrier tube shoulder having the barrier layer.

In one embodiment of the invention, the package comprises a first laminate sheet () and a second laminate sheet () thermoformed together to form a unitary body (). The unitary body () has a product containing portion () having a product cavity containing a fluidic product, a nozzle portion () for dispensing the fluidic product from the product cavity, and a break-off cap () sealing a dispensing orifice of the nozzle portion (). Each of the first and second laminate sheets () includes a layer of polyethylene (PE) and a layer of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The layer of PE has a first thickness and the layer of PET has a second thickness, the second thickness being less than or equal to the first thickness.

The invention provides a novel flexible, substantially gas impermeable laminate material comprising starch/polymer blends, which can be used to make dispensing tubes, e.g., for toothpaste, which material is light, resilient, and inexpensive, which can be made almost entirely from renewable materials, and which can be recycled.
