Systems, methods, and devices that enable efficient access control without consuming much network resources at the access node level are disclosed. In one example aspect, a method for wireless communication includes receiving, by a mobile device, a message broadcast by a base station, The message comprises System Information Block (SIB) that indicates an access category having a predefined value. The method includes determining, by the mobile device, whether the access category having the predefined value matches configuration information from a configuration server operated by a network operator. The method also includes selectively attempting to access a network based on the determining.

Restricting network access for unauthorized user devices

Systems, methods, and computer storage media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon that return query completions are provided. A user of a computing device like a mobile phone may enter a prefix. In turn, the prefix and location information associated with the device are transmitted to a server device. The server device receives the prefix and location information. The prefix and the location information are matched with names and locations of entities stored in a database connected to the server device. The server device transmits query completion data to the mobile device. The query completion data includes one or more names that complete the received prefix. The names provided by the server device may be associated with entities that are within a threshold radius of the location information.

Query completion based on location

Techniques that enable user plane data to be carried by control plane messages and still be correctly recognized and prioritized as user plane data in a packet network are provided. A base station of cellular network receives a message from a user equipment (UE). The base station transmits a packet based on the received message over a packet network to a control plane component of the cellular network. When the UE data includes user plane data, the base station sets a differentiated services code point (DSCP) marking of the packet so the packet is prioritized as user plane data in the packet network. When the received message does not include user plane data, the base station sets the DSCP marking of the packet so the packet is prioritized as control plane data.

Message type mapping for packet traffic prioritization

An LTE base station may receive a release command for a voice bearer carrying an IMS voice communication of a user device. The release command may be provided by a core network following a termination of the IMS voice communication. The LTE base station may initiate timer for a predetermined time period following in response to the voice bearer release command. When the LTE base station is carrying an active data bearer for data traffic of the user device at an end of the predetermined time period, the LTE base station may direct the user device to switch from the LTE base station to a 5G base station of the wireless carrier network. When the LTE base station is not carrying any active data bearer for the data traffic at the end of the predetermined time period, the LTE base station may place the user device into an idle state.

Accelerated return to 5G after LTE fall back

A base station of the cellular network receives a history of wireless access of a user device. When the history indicates that the user device is a mobile device, the base station commands the user device to perform a mobility measurement. When the history indicates that the user device is a stationary device, the base station commands the user device to bypass the mobility measurement. The user device is determined to be a mobile device when the history indicates that the user device is wirelessly connected with at least two different base stations within a threshold period of time. The user device is determined to be a stationary device when the history indicates that the user device is connected with the base station and no other base station within a threshold period of time.

Handover optimization based on mobility characteristics of user devices

A storage account is replicated across multiple data centers so as to withstand an outage of the storage account. A front end and applications use data stored in the storage accounts to manage resources of a cloud computing system. A client includes an interface used by the front end to access the storage accounts, in addition to an interface that is used by the applications to access the storage accounts. Other features, which ensure that a read operation survives even if a head replica or a tail replica is down, include reading from a head replica instead of from a tail replica, a two phase prepare-commit operation to propagate changes from head to tail replicas, and provisioning a back end repair service if a failure occurs in the middle of the prepare-commit operation.

Replicating storage tables used to manage cloud-based resources to withstand storage account outage

A base station of a dual connectivity cellular network is provided. The base station provides a first wireless connectivity of a first regulated wireless communication standard to a user equipment (UE) of a cellular network via a master node of the base station. User plane data is forwarded to the UE through the master node according to a first user plane path. The base station requests a secondary node to provide a second wireless connectivity of a second regulated wireless communication standard to the UE. When the master node is configured by a first configuration, the user plane data is forwarded to the UE through the secondary node according to the second user plane path that is established with the cellular network. When the master node is configured by a second configuration, the user plane data is forwarded to the UE through the secondary node according to the first user plane path.

Signaling reduction in dual connectivity networks

A base station receives a set of network information of a cellular network that relates to wireless traffic handled by the base station, A first class of the wireless traffic and a second class of the wireless traffic share a particular frequency division to access the cellular network by using different time divisions of the particular frequency division. The base station identifies a first set of time divisions of the particular frequency division based on the received set of network information. The base station disallows the first class of the wireless traffic from using the first set of time divisions to access the cellular network. The base station allows the second class of the wireless traffic to use time divisions of the particular frequency division that are not used by the first class of wireless traffic to access the cellular network.

Traffic deprioritization by using dynamically indicated invalid subframes

In various embodiments, methods and systems for maintaining compatibility between applications, based on feature-set constraints are provided. A distributed computing system provides Platform as a service (PaaS) including a software framework in a service model of cloud computing. A known compatibility baseline is established for features of a first application and a second application. The known compatibility baseline inherently includes a baseline set of unenumerated features of the applications. It is determined that the first application is compatible with second application based on comparing an explicit enumeration of added features or removed features in a feature set of the applications. The added features or removed features are tracked after the baseline set of unenumerated features is defined. The determination whether the first application and the second application are compatible is communicated for processing the first application and/or the second application.

Application compatibility checking in a distributed computing environment

An enterprise management system may present data in a user interface that contains tabular data and a graphical representation of the tabular data. The graphical representation may change based on portions of the tabular data that may be selected, and may show a graphical data summary if no rows are selected, or detailed graphical illustrations of the selected rows. In some cases, filters may be applied to the data, and a selection tool may enable a user to select from several different parameters in each row.

An item grouping mechanism may be applied to files or other computer objects to allow the files or objects to be accessed according to the group definition. The group definition may be defined in a table with other group definitions and distributed across an organization so that each device using the group definition may have files or other items presented in a consistent manner. The group definition may be distributed through a different mechanism than for the files or other items. If a device determines that a file defined in the group definition is missing from a local store, the device may retrieve the file from a distribution server.
