An engine includes a starter motor and a filter, both of which are positioned to a side of a cylinder that faces an exhaust port with respect to a direction that is perpendicular to both a reciprocating direction of a piston and an axial direction of a crankshaft. Moreover, the starter motor is positioned to a side of the cylinder that faces a crankcase, and the filter is positioned to a side of the starter motor that faces a cylinder head, with respect to the reciprocating direction of the piston.

A utility vehicle includes a vehicle body frame, a traveling drive source, a mount bracket for mounting the traveling drive source on the vehicle body frame, and a related component connected to the traveling drive source. The related component is supported by the mount bracket.

A generator cooling structure of an engine including a crankshaft and a generator arranged on one end side of the crankshaft includes a crankcase that houses the crankshaft and a generator cover that is coupled to the crankcase in order to house the generator. The generator has a rotor fixed to the crankshaft and a stator fixed in position with respect to the generator cover. A cooling medium supply passage, which is arranged in the direction of the one end side of the crankshaft in the stator in order to supply the cooling medium to the stator, is provided.

A utility vehicle includes: an engine which is a drive source; a catch tank configured to perform a gas-liquid separation of a blow-by gas generated in the engine; a first breather passage configured to deliver the blow-by gas, which is discharged from the engine, to the catch tank; a second breather passage configured to supply a gas component, which has been separated in the catch tank, to an air intake system of the engine; and a return passage configured to return a liquid component, which has been separated in the catch tank, to the engine. The catch tank is disposed above a cylinder head covering. A breather outlet port, with which the first breather passage is fluid connected, and an oil return port, with which the return passage is fluid connected, are formed in an upper surface of the cylinder head covering.

An exhaust device for an engine is disposed beneath a loading platform at a position rearwardly of a seat of a utility vehicle. A plurality of exhaust pipes extend rearwardly from a front surface of an engine main body by way of one lateral side of the engine main body. The plurality of the exhaust pipes are collected by a single collecting tube. An exhaust conduit extends from the collecting tube in a direction rearwardly of the engine. A muffler is disposed in a rear portion of the vehicle and fluid connected with a downstream end of the exhaust conduit. The exhaust pipes, the collecting tube and the exhaust conduit are covered by a covering. The covering is fitted to the exhaust pipes and the exhaust conduit to thereby suppress a heat conduction from the exhaust pipes, the collecting tube and the exhaust conduit.

Exhaust device for utility vehicle

A hub of a centrifugal clutch is mounted to a crankshaft of an engine. The hub includes: a hub boss at a center of the hub; a hub flange contiguous to an outer periphery of the hub boss; and a clutch element held to the hub flange. The hub boss is fastened to one end portion of the crankshaft with a plurality of fastening members extending parallel to the rotary shaft.

A water pump is mounted to a combustion engine having a crank shaft extending in a vehicle widthwise direction, a crankcase supporting the crank shaft and a covering member fastened to an abutting surface at one side surface of the crankcase. The water pump includes: a water pump shaft that is disposed in parallel to the crankshaft and is drivingly coupled with the crankshaft; an impeller fixed to a distal end portion of the water pump shaft; and a pump casing rotatably supporting the water pump shaft. The water pump is disposed laterally inward of the abutting surface in the vehicle widthwise direction. The water pump shaft is inserted through an insertion hole provided in the crankcase. The pump casing is fitted in a mounting hole provided at an outer surface of the crankcase.

A speed change apparatus for a vehicle includes a gear transmission, a shift lever device arranged in a zone where a driver on a driver's seat can operate the shift lever device, and an operation force transmission mechanism. Provided is an exhaust apparatus for a utility vehicle which discharges exhaust gas from exhaust pipes connected to exhaust ports of an engine including cylinders, the apparatus including an exhaust gathering portion gathering the exhaust pipes, a catalyst portion located on a downstream side of the exhaust gathering portion and purifying the exhaust gas, and a sensor attaching pipe provided between the exhaust gathering portion and the catalyst portion and to which an exhaust gas sensor is detachably attached, wherein the sensor attaching pipe, in a state where the exhaust gas sensor is attached, has a height in which a sensing portion of the exhaust gas sensor is located in the sensor attaching pipe, and the sensor attaching pipe is provided such that a top end to which the exhaust gas sensor is detachably attached is located above a base end and away from a surrounding heat source.

Exhaust apparatus for four wheeled utility vehicle

An exhaust device of a vehicle, provided with a V-engine () having a front cylinder () and a rear cylinder (), has a muffler () arranged in a rear part of the vehicle. A front cylinder exhaust pipe () is connected to a front surface of the front cylinder (), and a rear cylinder exhaust pipe () is connected to a rear surface of the rear cylinder (). A collecting pipe () is provided to collect the front cylinder exhaust pipe and the rear cylinder exhaust pipe. Also, a downstream exhaust pipe () extends from the collecting pipe to the muffler. The total length of the front cylinder exhaust pipe and the total length of the rear cylinder exhaust pipe are substantially the same.
