Provided is a technology that makes it possible for billing and balance management in the form of units that are difficult to understand for a user, to be expressed and managed in the form of units that are easy to understand from the viewpoint of the actual purpose of use. The network connection communication system is provided with means for expressing the unit price of network usage in terms of units that a user can understand more intuitively in the light of the purpose for which the network is used. For instance, the number of connection minutes (time), the number of books purchased and downloaded over the network, or the number of connections to a communicating partner can be used depending on the purpose of use of a service.

Network connection communication system

Network connection systems and methods for managing a variety of services over different kinds of networks. A network connection and communication system is provided that monitors and displays units of network usage over a selected network. The information can be displayed in terms of usage units that are easy to understand from the viewpoint of a user. For instance, a display screen can indicate the number of available or used usage units, eg, connection minutes (time), the number of books purchased and downloaded over the network, the number of connections to a communicating partner. Multiple conversions can occur between various services that are available depending on the type of service and selected network.

Aromatic polycarbonate resin composition, and molded article comprising same

A long-life electrophotographic photosensitive body having excellent wear resistance and crack resistance can be obtained by using a polycarbonate resin composition, which is obtained by blending 0.01-5 parts by weight of a silicone-modified polyurethane per 100 parts by weight of a polycarbonate resin, as a binder for photosensitive layer (or in case when the photosensitive layer is of multilayer type, for at least an electron transport layer) of the electrophotographic photosensitive body. The silicone-modified polyurethane is obtained by reacting a diol component (a) represented by the general formula (I) below, an active hydrogen-containing polysiloxane compound (b), a polyisocyanate component (c) and, if necessary, a chain extender (d). (In the formula (I), Rand Rindependently represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; Rrepresents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a halogen atom or an alkoxycarbonyl group; M represents a single bond, a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group or an oxyalkylene group; and n represents an integer of 0-4.

A polycarbonate polymer and resin composition having excellent transparency and abrasion resistance, comprising a mixture of (i) a polycarbonate polymer having a repeating unit having a specific grafted polysiloxane structure, and (ii) from 0 to 20 wt % of a diorganopolysiloxane. The polycarbonate polymer is obtained by reacting (a) a specific polysiloxane compound and (b) a specific bisphenol compound with (c) a carbonate ester forming compound.
