A disc-visible type disk drive apparatus is disclosed. The disk drive apparatus includes: a main body casing having a first slot provided at a first side surface to load a disc; a protection cover having a first cover provided on the first side surface of the main body casing, wherein the first cover covers a portion of the disc exposed outside the main body casing through the first slot and forms a passage through which the disc passes during loading and unloading; a disc detecting sensor disposed in the first cover which detects the disc; and a disc loading unit disposed in the main body casing and having a loading roller which is driven so as to load the disc if the disc is detected by the disc detecting sensor.

Disc visible type disc drive apparatus

A disk loading apparatus includes a disk selecting unit rotatable through a rotating angle which corresponds to a size of an inserted disk, a pair of guide arms that are spaced from the disk selecting unit and are rotated by the disk, a small diameter loading lever that is rotated by one of the guide arms, a large diameter loading lever that is moved by the guide arms, a slide cam unit that is moved by the small diameter loading lever or the large diameter loading lever, and a chuck unit which is disposed between the guide arms and the disk selecting unit and is operated by the slide cam unit to chuck the disk. The small diameter loading lever and the large diameter loading lever are disposed at a same height above the guide arms.

A disk player includes a body, a tray having a first seating recess and a second seating recess to load disks of a first size and a second size and slidably inserted into or ejected from a replay unit of the body, a single sensor disposed in the body to detect loading or unloading of a disk on the tray, size of the loaded disk, and insertion or ejection of the tray, and a plurality of slits penetratingly formed on the tray with different lengths to correspond to the sensor when the tray is inserted or ejected.
