A belt type fixing apparatus comprises: a fixing roller; a fixing belt which is installed to be opposite to the fixing roller; a nip forming member which is installed inside the fixing belt and supports the fixing belt so that the fixing belt can contact the fixing roller to form a fixing nip; a pair of sliding members which are installed to support both ends of the fixing belt and are rotated by the fixing belt; a pair of flange members which rotatably support the pair of sliding members; and a heat source which is installed inside the fixing belt and generates heat, wherein the rotation center of the pair of sliding members is located upstream in the transportation direction of printed matter compared to the rotation center of the fixing roller.

The registration apparatus includes: a subassembly including a first guide plate that guides a medium along a medium transferring direction, and a side guide disposed adjacent to one side of the first guide plate, in parallel with the medium transferring direction and is a side registration reference; a subassembly moving guide that supports the subassembly, so that the subassembly can move in a direction crossing the medium transferring direction; and a subassembly driver that drives the subassembly. An apparatus for adjusting a fixing pressure of an image forming apparatus is provided. The apparatus for adjusting the fixing pressure includes a pair of pressing members to rotatably support an axis of a first roller from both ends and to rotate about a hinge shaft to cause the first roller to press against a second roller, a pair of hinge cams to move the hinge shaft of the pair of pressing members in either of two directions, a driving unit to rotate the pair of hinge cams, and a control unit to control the driving unit to adjust the position of the hinge shaft.
