A display apparatus includes a display panel, a light source unit including a light source configured to generate light and a light source supporting unit on which the light source is disposed, and a light guide plate disposed at a rear portion of the display panel and transmitting the light generated by the light source toward the display panel. The light source supporting unit is disposed to support at least one portion the front surface of the light guide plate.

Light guide plate support structure for display apparatus

A backlight unit includes a light guide plate; a light emitting unit configured to irradiate light toward a side portion of the light guide plate, the side portion comprising an upper side part and a lower side part; and a light controller of which at least a portion is in at least one from among the upper and the lower side parts of the side portion of the light guide plate. The light controller includes a first region overlapping the light guide plate and a second region not overlapping the light guide plate, and a reflectivity of the first region is different from a reflectivity of the second region.

A display module including a backlight to more effectively dissipate heat generated at light emitting diodes (LEDs) and heat dissipation units to effectively dissipate heat generated at driver chips and prevent movement of the driver chips by attaching porous fillers to the heat dissipation units, and a display apparatus having the same are provided. The display module includes a display panel, a backlight disposed on a rear side of the display panel and including a plurality of printed circuit boards, a bottom chassis adapted to accommodate the backlight unit and provided with a plurality of seating grooves, a driving printed circuit board, a plurality of flexible printed circuit films which electrically connect the display panel and the driving printed circuit board, at least one heat dissipater disposed on an opposite surface of a corresponding one of the flexible printed circuit and provided with a porous filler.

Display module and display apparatus having the same

A LED module includes a printed circuit board, LEDs which are vertically mounted on the printed circuit board and which emit light onto a side surface, and a contact member which is provided to come into contact with a light guide plate. The printed circuit board may be movably coupled to a bottom chassis. When the light guide plate undergoes thermal expansion, the LED module may move by pressing of the light guide plate acting on the contact member. Accordingly, a gap between the light guide plate and the LEDs may be uniformly maintained even when the light guide plate undergoes thermal expansion or is returned to an original state.

Liquid crystal display

A curved display apparatus includes a curved display panel, a curved bottom sash disposed at a rear of the display panel such that the curved bottom sash is spaced apart from the display panel, and a plurality of backlight units disposed at opposite inner sides of the bottom sash to irradiate light to the bottom sash. The inside of the bottom sash reflects the light irradiated from the backlight units to the display panel. Consequently, a light guide plate may be omitted from the display apparatus.

Curved display apparatus

A curved display device is provided including a display panel having a constant curvature and displaying an image, a backlight unit having the same curvature as that of the display panel, disposed at a rear surface of the display panel, and emitting light to the display panel, and a control unit locally controlling light emission of the backlight unit such that luminance of a light leakage region of the display panel is adjusted. Occurrence of light leakage in the curved display device is prevented, and thus, luminance of the curved display device is kept constant.

A backlight assembly, in which several parts are unified so as to reduce a number of parts used and simplify an assembly process includes lamps emitting light, first lamp sockets, each of which includes a first connection member coupled with one end of each of the lamps so as to be electrically connected to the end of each of the lamps, and a reflection plate to reflect the light emitted from the lamps, and including socket fixing units formed integrally therewith to respectively fix the first lamp sockets. Each of the socket fixing units includes a socket fixing groove formed on a bottom plane of the reflection plate.

A liquid crystal display to reduce a number of parts forming a back light unit includes a liquid crystal panel, a light source to illuminate light on the liquid crystal panel, a reflection plate to reflect light emitted from the light source toward the liquid crystal panel, the light source is disposed on the reflection plate, and a support bracket disposed on a rear surface of the reflection plate to reinforce a strength of the reflection plate.

A flat panel display includes a base chassis, a display panel, a backlight unit connected to the base chassis to emit light to the display panel, and including a substrate mounted with a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) each generating light and a light guide plate disposed between the display panel and the substrate to diffuse the lights generated from the respective LEDs, and a fixing member formed at any one of the base chassis, the substrate, and the light guide plate in order to connect the base chassis with the light guide plate. The base chassis, the substrate and the light guide plate can be conveniently assembled to one another at one time without the use of screws.
