A head protecting airbag device includes an airbag that is folded and stored on an upper edge side of a window on an interior vehicle side; an inflator that supplies inflation gas to the airbag; and an attachment bracket that attaches the inflator to a body side on the upper edge side of the window. The inflator has a substantially cylindrical outer shape of which an axial direction is disposed substantially along a front-rear direction. The attachment bracket includes a holding portion that is formed by being curved in a substantially arc-shaped cross section, is disposed so as to partially cover an outer peripheral surface of the inflator, and is configured to be capable of holding the inflator using connecting means, and an attachment piece portion that is formed so as to extend from an end edge of the holding portion on an exterior vehicle side and that is attached to the body side by using attachment means. The holding portion is disposed so as to cover and support a lower surface side of the inflator in a state where the airbag device is mounted in a vehicle.

Head protecting airbag device with inflator attachment bracket

A head protection airbag device includes an airbag including a front seat protection portion, and an end side expansion portion, and a partition closing portion. The airbag is configured to be provided with a single receiving area where the head which moves diagonally forward at the time of an oblique collision or an offset collision of the vehicle is received by the front seat protection portion, and a collaborative receiving area where the head is received by the front seat protection portion and the end side expansion portion. The partition closing portion is linearly provided to be inclined forward and downward in a state where the airbag is viewed from a side when the expansion of the airbag is completed. The collaborative receiving area includes vehicle inner side surfaces of the end side expansion portion and the front seat protection portion with the partition closing portion interposed therebetween.

Head protection airbag device

An engagement structure includes a cover having an opening portion, a block member inserted into the opening portion, an engagement mechanism configured to engage the block member with the opening portion, and an engagement stabilization mechanism configured to stabilize an engagement state of the engagement mechanism. The engagement stabilization mechanism includes a first stabilization mechanism and a second stabilization mechanism. The first stabilization mechanism permits excessive insertion due to backlash that occurs in the engagement mechanism and to restore the excessive insertion after the block member is engaged with the opening portion. The second stabilization mechanism performs a slide engagement between the block member and the opening portion and to restrict a wall inner surface of the cover from moving away from an outer surface of a side portion of the block member after the slide engagement is completed.

A steering wheel includes a decorative component and a surface skin on a surface of the rim. The decorative component is formed into a band and a leading-end portion of the decorative component has a tapered form in which an inner edge curves towards an outer circumference of the rim and serves as a curving edge. The surface skin includes a curved-side section adjoining the curving edge and a non-curved-side section adjoining a non-curving edge of the leading-end portion. The curved-side section includes a main body that includes a curving portion which corresponds to the curving edge of the leading-end portion in shape, and an extended portion that extends beyond an apex of the leading-end portion and extends towards the non-curving edge of the leading-end portion of the decorative component. A region of the extended portion beyond the apex is joined to a leading edge of the non-curved-side section.

Steering wheel

A ratting prevention structure is provided. Further, an electronic component module, an electrical connection box, and a wire harness which adopt the ratting prevention structure are provided. The electronic component module includes a cover having a rectangular opening portion, a connector block inserted into the opening portion of the cover, and an engagement mechanism engaging the block member with the opening portion of the cover. The rattling prevention structure is used to prevent rattling between the cover and the block member. In the rattling prevention structure, four pressing protrusions are formed at any one of four corner parts of the cover and four corner portions of the block member at the opening portion. The four pressing protrusions are configured to bend four walls of the cover inward while displacing the four corner parts of the cover outward.

An airbag includes a bag body and an inlet port section of inflation gas. As a gas receivable region, the bag body includes a front main inflatable region, a rear main inflatable region, a feed path that feeds the inflation gas from the inlet port section to the front and rear main inflatable regions, and a sub inflatable region that absorbs the gas from the front main inflatable region when a pressure of the front main inflatable region soars. A front partitioning region partitions the front main inflatable region from the sub inflatable region. The front partitioning region is disposed in front of a front end of an upper partitioning region in an island-like fashion remote from other uninflatable region so as to provide, at the rear of and there beneath, one each communication passage that provides gas communication between the front main inflatable region and the sub inflatable region.

Airbag for head protection

A head-protecting airbag device includes: an airbag loaded in a vehicle as a completely folded body folded to be storable in the storage portion; and a regulation member, to be arranged near a bent portion in the completely folded body at a time of conveyance. The regulation member is formed of a belt-shaped body having flexibility, and capable of regulating a twist of the completely folded body at the bent portion when the completely folded body is assembled into the vehicle. In a state where a protrusion part is engaged with a periphery of an assembly hole, both front and rear sides of the protrusion part are wrapped together with the completely folded body by a wrapping material. A length dimension of a portion between the assembly holes is set to be a length dimension which disenables one turn of twist in a circumferential direction of the completely folded body.

Head-protecting airbag device

A side airbag device includes: an airbag which is stored in a storage part provided on a side of an occupant sitting on a seat of a vehicle in a normal posture, and is deployed and inflated forward between the occupant and a side wall part by an inflation gas supplied from a gas generator in response to an impact applied from a side to the side wall part of the vehicle; an exhaust port configured to exhaust an inflation gas, the exhaust port being provided with the airbag and open toward a direction along a wall surface of the side wall part; and an opening varying mechanism configured to reduce an opening area of the exhaust port in a later stage of deployment and inflation of the airbag compared to an initial stage.

Side airbag device

A head protection airbag apparatus includes an airbag which is stored on an upper edge side of a vehicle window and is deployed and inflated to cover the window, and a protector which stores a folded body of the airbag. An upper edge side portion of the window includes a vehicle body side member which partially protrudes toward a vehicle inner side around an upper side of a storage region of the folded body. The protector includes a cover part which is disposed in a disposition region of the vehicle body side member. The cover part includes a door part which can be opened such that a tip end side is rotated upward while covering a region extending from a vehicle inner side lower corner part to a vehicle inner side surface of the vehicle body side member when the airbag is being deployed and inflated.

Head protection airbag apparatus

An airbag apparatus mountable on a vehicle having a side window, a first pillar adjoining the window and a second pillar adjoining the window on the opposite side is disclosed. The airbag apparatus includes an airbag adapted to be housed in an upper edge of the window, and the airbag includes a shutter section that covers the window. The shutter section includes mounting portions that are located above the first and second pillars, an inflatable region comprised of a first pillar side region, a supporting region and a preventing region, and a thin panel region. The thin panel region includes therein a catching point that is intended to catch a vehicle occupant during a rollover event of the vehicle, and the supporting inflatable region and preventing inflatable region surround the catching point continuously at the lower side and on a side of the second pillar.

Airbag apparatus for a side window

A head-protecting airbag apparatus mountable on a vehicle having a window is disclosed. The airbag apparatus includes an airbag adapted to be secured to a member of a vehicle body structure by an upper edge thereof in an upper edge of the window and housed in the upper edge of the window in a folded-up configuration. The airbag includes an inflatable shielding section that covers an inboard side of the window at full airbag deployment, a supporting inflatable region that is in gas communication with the shielding section and deployable between an outboard side of a vicinity of an upper end of the shielding section and the member of the vehicle body structure in an upper area of the window, and delaying means that delays inflation of the supporting inflatable region relative to the shielding section. The supporting inflatable region inflates after the shielding section does between the shielding section and the member of the vehicle body structure, and supports the outboard side of the vicinity of the upper end of the shielding section.

Head-protecting airbag apparatus

A head-protecting airbag apparatus includes an inflated airbag with a rear inflatable portion covering the vicinity of a rear window of a vehicle, and a gas supply passage that inflates the rear portion. The rear inflatable portion includes a main body portion and an inlet inflatable portion, with a belt-shaped closing portion that partitions the two. The upper communication port and the lower communication port of the belt-shaped closing portion allow the inflation gas to flow from the inlet inflatable portion to the inflatable main body. In both communication ports, the opening area of the lower communication port is larger than the opening area of the upper communication port so that the airbag inflates via the lower communication port upon normal inflation of the airbag, and then inflates via the upper communication port upon abnormal inflation when the lower communication port is obstructed.

A head-protecting airbag apparatus covers a window so that an occupant's head can be protected. The airbag includes a front window shielding portion with an inclining inflatable portion and a horizontal inflatable portion in the shape of a pipe. The inclining inflatable portion is disposed between an upper guide portion that extends continuously from a portion that partitions an upper edge region of the gas supply passage, and a lower guide portion that extends from a portion that partitions a lower edge region of the gas supply passage. The inclining inflatable portion and the horizontal inflatable portion respectively include an inclining peak portion and a horizontal peak portion formed by ridgelines that swell thickly. The respective width dimensions of the inclining inflatable portion and the horizontal inflatable portion in a flat state are larger than the vertical width dimension of the gas supply passage that is flatly deployed.
