A vehicle control device includes an electronic control unit configured to: enlarge the detection range, when the electronic control unit determines that a current deceleration support control is control for passing the object; set a new target deceleration of the host vehicle when a new object with a possibility of collision with the host vehicle has been detected in the enlarged detection range; determine whether an interval from an ending time of the current deceleration support control to a starting time of the next deceleration support control is less than a threshold value, when the electronic control unit determines that the next deceleration support control is control for passing the new object; and perform one of the inter-vehicle distance control and acceleration support control from the ending time to the starting time, when the electronic control unit determines that the interval is less than the threshold value.

A control device includes an electronic control unit executes steering control for avoiding a collision with an object that has a possibility of colliding with a host vehicle. The electronic control unit sets a timing when the host vehicle is predicted to pass the object as an end timing of the steering control when the steering control is performed. The electronic control unit determines whether or not a deviation possibility is present when the electronic control unit assumes that the steering control ends at the end timing. The deviation possibility is a possibility of the host vehicle deviating from a current traveling lane accompanying an end of the steering control. The electronic control unit performs reduction processing that reduces the deviation possibility when the electronic control unit determines that the deviation possibility is present.

A vehicle control device includes an external sensor configured to acquire environmental information around a host vehicle, and an electronic control unit. An object detection apparatus includes: a camera; a map database; a radar sensor; and an electronic control unit configured to detect a first object in a camera image, detect a first relative position of the first object relative to the road structure in the camera image, detect a second object based on a result received by the radar sensor, detect a second relative angle and a relative distance between the host vehicle and the second object, estimate a second relative position of the second object relative to the road structure, determine, based on the first relative angle, the first relative position, the second relative angle, and the second relative position, whether the first and second objects belong to the same object, and recognize the first and second of as the same object, when it is determined that the first and second objects belong to the same object.

Object detection apparatus

An object recognition device installed on a vehicle includes a first camera detecting a first object, a second camera detecting a second object, a ranging sensor detecting a third object, and a controller. The controller sets first to third determination ranges with respect to detected positions of the first to third objects, respectively, and executes fusion processing by comparing the determination ranges. First and second pixel densities being pixel densities of the first and second objects are determined based on detected distances of the first and second objects, angles of view and numbers of pixels of the first and second cameras, respectively. The controller sets the first determination range larger as the first pixel density is lower, and sets the second determination range larger as the second pixel density is lower.
