An image forming device operates in a first operation when executing a first program and operates in a second operation when executing a second program. A controller of the image forming device transmits first USB configuration information to a terminal device when operated in a first operation and transmit second USB configuration information to the terminal device when operated in a second operation. The image forming device does not communicate with the terminal device when operated in the second operation in a case where the second USB configuration information is not transmitted to the terminal device, and communicates with the terminal device by transmitting the second USB configuration information in a case where operating in the second operation and communicating with the terminal device which receives the first USB configuration information.

Image forming device

A firmware of the image forming device stores USB configuration information in a memory when updating the firmware in a normal operation. When updating of the firmware is not completed normally, the image forming device operates a recovery operation by executing a recovery program. The recovery program transmits USB configuration information, which is stored in the memory, to a terminal device when performing USB communication with the terminal device in the recovery operation. Thus, the USB configuration of the normal operation and that of the recovery operation are identical.

An image-processing apparatus includes a storage and a controller. The storage stores therein firmware for executing a plurality of image processes. The firmware includes a plurality of sets of sub firmware for executing respective ones of the image processes. The controller is capable of executing the image processes in accordance with the firmware. The controller is configured to perform: receiving update information about an update of the firmware from a server; when receiving an instruction to execute one of the image processes, determining whether the received update information includes specific information about an update of specific sub firmware which is one of the plurality of sets of sub firmware and is for executing the one of the image processes; and when determining that the received update information includes the specific information, notifying of notification information about the update of the specific sub firmware on the basis of the specific information.

A data processor and a host device are bi-directionally communicably connected to each other. The data processor includes a process-executing unit and a progress-status-saving unit. The process-executing unit executes a prescribed process when a process-requested file is written in a prescribed folder. The progress-status-saving unit saves progress status data indicating a progress status of the prescribed process so that the progress status data is retrievable by the host device.

A printing system includes an image file standard determining unit, an additional information determining unit, an printing data creating unit, and a printing unit. The image file standard determining unit is configured to determine whether image data subject to printing is created in conformity with a prescribed image file standard. The additional information determining unit is configured to refer to additional information attached to the image data and determine whether the image data is created in a prescribed image data format based on the additional information. The printing data creating unit creates printing data based on the image data that is in conformity with the prescribed image file standard and the prescribed image data format. The printing unit prints an image based on the printing data created by the printing data creating unit.

In a facsimile device, a CPU determines whether or not a recording sheet is conveyed normally based on the conveyance state detected by a detecting portion. When the CPU determines that the recording sheet has been conveyed normally, the CPU increases the conveying speed in a stepwise manner based on the current conveying speed until the conveying speed reaches maximum speed. Therefore, according to the present facsimile device, when conveyance of the recording sheet is normally performed at a specified conveying speed, the number of failures of conveyance of the recording sheet can be reduced compared to a facsimile device, in which the conveying speed is set at maximum speed of conveyance by a sheet feed roller. Also, the recording sheet can be conveyed at as high speed as possible.
