An acrylic elastomer composition comprising (A) a halogen-containing acrylic elastomer, (B) a polyvalent carboxylic acid, (C) a quaternary onium salt and (D) a hydrotalcite can be vulcanized within a shorter vulcanization time to give a vulcanization product having distinguished normal state physical properties and compression set characteristics, even without any secondary vulcanization.

Acrylic elastomer composition

A butenedioic acid monoalkyl ester-copolymerized acrylic elastomer containing 0.1-30% by mole of unreacted butenedioic acid monoalkyl ester on the basis of carboxyl groups copolymerized in the acrylic elastomer or its cross-linkable composition. The cross-linkable composition can give cross-linking products having distinguished vulcanization characteristics and stably showing good compression set characteristics.

An acrylic elastomer composition, which comprises a carboxyl group-containing acrylic elastomer, a polyfunctional isocyanate compound or a blocked isocyanate, and at least one of a guanidine, a quaternary onium salt, a tertiary amine and a tertiary phosphine has an improved scorch resistance without lowering the normal state physical properties, heat resistance and compression set characteristics of the resulting vulcanization products, when the polyfunctional isocyanate used, or has an improved scorch resistance, particulary at high temperatures, without lowering the vulcanization speed when the blocked isocyanate is used.

An acrylic rubber composition comprising a halogen-containing acrylic rubber, a vulcanizing agent and at least one unsaturated compound selected from the group consisting of (1) .alpha.-olefins having at least 4 carbon atoms, (2) carboxylic acid vinyl esters, (3) alkyl vinyl ethers, (4) lower alkyl cyclohexenes or cyclohexenecarboxylic acid caprolactone esters and (5) unsaturated dicarboxylic acid diesters can give vulcanization products having an improved compression set without any substantial deterioration of normal state physical properties and resistance to heat ageing of the vulcanization products, where the unsaturated compound gives off no unpleaseant odor without any skin irritation when vulcanized and without lowering the mold releasability.

Acrylic rubber composition

A rubber compound comprising a fluorine rubber component and an acrylic rubber component is produced by adding an acrylic monomer to an aqueous emulsion of fluorine-containing elastomer obtained by emulsion polymerization, using a fluorine-containing surfactant, followed by radical polymerization reaction. The obtained rubber compound can satify both of vulcanization moldability and heat aging resistance, and is at a lower cost than the expensive fluorine rubber.

This invention relates to a fluorine containing polymer as well as a curable composition containing the polymer and an organic peroxide. The fluorine containing polymer consists of a copolymer of (1) 3-bromoperfluoropropyl perfluorovinyl ether or 2-bromoperfluoropropyl perfluorovinyl ether, and (2) a fluorine containing monomer of 2 to 8 carbon atoms copolymerizable with said perfluoropropyl perfluorovinyl ether, the content of said perfluoropropyl perfluorovinyl ether in said copolymer being less than 5 mol %.

A peroxide-vulcanizable, fluorine-containing elastomer having distinguished processability, vulcanization characteristics and physical properties of vulcanized products can be obtained by polymerization of fluorine-containing olefins having 2 to 8 carbon atoms in the presence of a bromine or iodine-containing aromatic or perfluoroaromatic compound, polysubstituted with (1) bromine atoms or bromoalkyl groups (2) iodine atoms or iodoalkyl groups.
