The present invention obtains a controller capable of improving safety of a motorcycle. The controller that controls vehicle body behavior of the motorcycle includes: an acquisition section that acquires trigger information generated in accordance with peripheral environment of the motorcycle; and an execution section that initiates a control mode making the motorcycle execute an automatic brake operation in accordance with the trigger information acquired by the acquisition section and makes the motorcycle generate a braking force. The acquisition section further acquires deceleration resistance information that is information related to a driver's driving posture on the motorcycle, and the execution section changes a control command that is output in the control mode in accordance with the deceleration resistance information acquired by the acquisition section.

The present invention obtains a hydraulic pressure control unit capable of saving a space where a device can be mounted in a straddle-type vehicle. In the hydraulic pressure control unit according to the present invention, a controller includes a brake control section that controls operation of a component for controlling a brake hydraulic pressure generated in the straddle-type vehicle, and the brake control section is accommodated in a case that is held by a base body. The controller further includes a power control section that controls operation of a power generator for the straddle-type vehicle, and the power control section is accommodated together with the brake control section in the case.

In the hydraulic pressure control unit according to the present disclosure, a controller includes: an acquisition section that acquires a current value of a current flowing through a coil of the electromagnetic valve in a hydraulic pressure control mechanism; and a diagnosis section that determines whether the current value has exhibited behavior of being temporarily reduced in a process in which the current value is increased at initiation of applying the current to the coil of the electromagnetic valve, so as to diagnose the presence or the absence of the fixation of the electromagnetic valve.
