A duplex system has duplicated processor devices. Each of the processor devices has a first copying section which writes data written in a memory of the processor device, into a same address of a memory of the other processor device, a second copying section which divides all data in the memory of the processor device to sequentially write all data into the memory of the other processor device periodically, an error detecting section which checks the data written in the memory of the processor device, and an error check register which sets an error bit when the error detecting section detects an error. After the first copying section and the second copying section write data into a memory of the standby side processor device, the control side processor device checks an error bit of an error check register of the standby side processor device.

Duplex system

A flat panel type display provided with a screen, control electrodes divided in a horizontal direction of the screen, light emitting fluorescent material formed on the control electrodes, a mesh-like electrode, scanning electrodes each divided in a vertical direction of the screen and facing the mesh-like electrode, an electron source for generating electron beams in the horizontal direction of the screen and deflection unit for deflecting the beams in the vertical direction. The deflection unit is provided with a signal supply device for applying first and second voltage levels to each scanning electrode. The first voltage level is at a level similar to that applied to the control or mesh-like electrode. The second voltage level is substantially less than the first voltage level. The second voltage level is sequentially applied to each scanning electrode during a vertical scan, for a fixed time period at least as long as the time required for vertically scanning a distance in which a path of an electron reflected from a position of beam incidence with the fluorescent material becomes substantially parallel to the scanning electrodes. The time period between the start of each sequential application of the second voltage level to each successive scanning electrode is a predetermined amount which differs from the fixed time period of the second voltage level.

Flat panel type display and method for driving the display

A flat configuration CRT has a plurality of line cathodes arrayed with a predetermined pitch, a focus electrode section for focusing respective electron beams which are emitted for the line cathodes, and pairs of deflection plates having opposed deflection electrodes for executing deflection of the focussed electron beams, the deflection electrodes of each deflection plate being divided into at least two parts, and an image display section upon which the electron beams are incident. The length of a region in which deflection is executed by the deflection electrodes is made no greaer than a value which is approximately three times the pitch of the line cathodes.

Flat configuration cathode ray tube

A flat CRT apparatus has a set of vertical scanning deflection electrodes arrayed down one flat inner face of the CRT, spaced apart from an opposing face having a photo-emissive layer formed thereon, and an electron gun for emitting a single flat electron beam or a row of narrow line electron beams into the space between the scanning electrodes and the photo-emissive layer. Vertical scanning of a raster display is executed by scanning voltages sucessively applied to the scanning electrodes, with the deflected electron beams thus obtained being then horizontally swept in common by a horizontal deflection electrode, so that each electron beam is utilized to display a large number of picture elements of each horizontal scanning line of the display picture.

Flat CRT display apparatus

A flat type cathode ray tube. Electrode beams are vertically emitted from electron beam emitting sources along vertical scanning electrodes which have a strip-shaped configuration in horizontal direction and are insulated from each other and lined up in the vertical direction. The beams turn at a predetermined position toward a phosphor screen for vertically scanning and are horizontally focussed and deflected onto the phosphor screen by horizontal focussing and deflection electrodes.

A drive method for a color CRT in which a point-sequential color video signal is produced to drive a modulation electrode of the CRT, in which an index signal is generated consisting of pulses at a frequency identical to a frequency of scanning successive screen phosphor color trios of the CRT, multi-phase index signals are derived from that index signal, and respective time differences between scanning timings of each color trio in each scan line and a specific index signal phase are successively measured, stored in memory, and subsequently read out to produce timing control signals for gating the color components of the point-sequential video signal. Requirements for timing accuracy and assembly precision of the CRT can thereby be substantially relaxed by comparison with a prior art single-phase index signal method.

In a flat type cathode ray tube having one or plural parallel (vertical) line cathodes (10) and a plurality of scanning electrodes (12) consisting of insulated parallel (horizontal) metal strips, which are to be impressed with respective scanning pulses (FIG. 6, FIG. 21) to make vertical scanning of electron beams from the line cathodes: undesirable vibrations of the line cathode (10) are suppressed by touching wire-shaped dampers (28, 38A, 38B, 48, 64, 65) on the line cathode (10), and by selecting the frequency of the scanning pulses higher than natural vibration frequency of the line cathode (10).

A display device includes line cathodes. Separate first electrodes extend in rear of the line cathodes. A second electrode extends in front of the line cathodes and has apertures for guiding electron beams from the line cathodes. The apertures of the second electrode correspond to the separate first electrodes and the line cathodes. A third electrode deflects the electron beams. A screen is exposed to the electron beams. A vibration-preventing plate extends along the line cathodes and has apertures corresponding to the separate first electrodes and the line cathodes. The portions of the vibration-preventing plate between the apertures of the plate are in contact with the line cathodes.

A charged-particle beam electric field deflector includes plural (n) pairs or sets of facing deflection electrodes to accelerate and deflect the beam. Different d.c. acceleration voltages are superimposed on a common deflection voltage and applied to the electrode pairs so that electrode pair k is responsive to acceleration voltage k and the common voltage, where k is selectively each of 1 . . . n. The distance between each pair of facing electrodes is constant or increases along the beam path, while the length of each of the deflection electrodes has a given relationship as a function of the distance between the facing electrodes of each pair. The deflector is used in a flat CRT.

Charged particle beam deflector and flat CRT using the same

An electron beam detecting electrode is provided laterally outside an effective picture area, to detect a beam current amount and vertical position of the electron beam. An amount of the electron beam current and a position of the electron are controlled by utilizing an output signal of the electron beam detecting electrode, and a uniform brightness and a uniform distance between horizontal scanning lines are obtainable.

Flat plate-shaped cathode ray tube

A flat type cathode ray tube comprises, in a vacuum enclosure, a plurality of vertically extending line cathodes, as many vertical scan electrodes as 1/n (n.gtoreq.2) of the number of horizontal scan lines arranged behind the line cathodes perpendicularly to the line cathodes, and modulation electrodes, planar grid electrodes, vertical deflection electrodes, horizontal deflection electrodes and a phosphor screen all of which are arranged sequentially in front of the line cathodes. The modulation electrodes are separated into a plurality of planar sections which are arranged in one-to-one correspondence with the respective line cathodes. The vertical deflection electrodes include two planar electrodes having respective electron beam passing openings provided therein which are shifted from each other. The horizontal deflection electrodes are divided into a plurality of sections in the direction of the electron beam paths. In a color display tube having a phosphor screen in which three primary color phosphors are arranged sequentially and repeatedly with black areas intervening therebetween, the timings for the electron beams to scan predetermined positions on the phosphor screen are stored, and a color video signal to be applied to the color display tube is controlled to make the electron beams correspond to the respective proper positions on the phosphor screen based on the stored timings, thereby compensating for a deviation occurring in the horizontal landing positions of the electron beams.

In a flat image display tube, a phosphor screen having an image display region and index region, a plurality of electron beam generators and a plurality of horizontal deflection electrodes are provided. The image display region has three primary color phosphor stripes and each is sequentially arranged alternately with black stripes in a horizontal direction. The index region is arranged adjacent to the image display region and has index phosphor stripes arranged in a predetermined relationship to the three primary color phosphor stripes.

A flat cathode-ray tube wherein a horizontally uniform sheet-like electron beam is vertically deflected and modulated with a video signal, with the modulated electron beam irradiating a portion of a phosphor screen, includes a modulation electrode assembly arranged by n electrode groups, each consisting of at least one first electrode group and at least one second electrode group, the first electrode group having vertically elongated stripe electrodes, each having one or n (n is an integer of 2 or more) openings or slits corresponding to each pel and which are aligned in the horizontal direction on at least one plane such that all openings are equidistantly formed, the second electrode group having the same construction as the first electrode group or being arranged such that vertically elongated stripe electrodes, each having n openings or slits corresponding to n pels along the horizontal direction are aligned on at least one plane to equidistantly form the openings along the horizontal direction, all the openings of the n electrode groups being aligned along an electron beam propagation direction and the n electrode groups being offset by 1/n the pitch along the horizontal direction, wherein the sheet-like electron beam is generated toward the vertical scanning surface of the phosphor screen and is then deflected substantially normal to the phosphor screen, or alternatively, the beam is generated perpendicular to the phosphor screen, and the electron beam can be vertically deflected and then modulated, and vice versa.

Beam scanning device producing a horizontally uniform electron beam

In a flat type cathode ray tube having a small depth relative to an image screen size, electron beams which are generated by heating vertically extending linear thermal cathodes are sequentially and vertically switched by a plurality of vertical scanning electrodes extending vertically and arranged perpendicularly to the linear thermal cathodes, are transmitted through an electron beam generating electrode having apertures formed therein corresponding to the linear thermal cathodes. The electron beams are horizontally deflected by horizontal deflection electrodes, and then directed to a phosphor layer on an image area of a faceplate. The electron beams are modulated by applying a modulation pulse voltage together with a heating D.C. voltage to the linear thermal cathodes, or by applying a modulation pulse signal to a modulation electrode arranged close to the electron beam generating electrode. A large image screen size is attained by the provision of the plurality of vertically extending linear thermal cathodes.

In an infrared image pickup device, an infrared image signal and a visible image signal are picked up from an object to be photographed, the infrared signal, the visible image signal and/or a visible profile image signal are transmitted in a time-division manner and are separated from each other, and an infrared image, a visible image, a visible profile image, an image obtained by superposing the visible image on the infrared image, and an image obtained by superposing the visible profile image on the infrared image are selectively displayed on different display monitors or a single display monitor in a synchronized manner or on said single display monitor in a separate manner.
