In a method of manufacturing an inkjet head, a silicon dioxide (SiO) layer is produced on the surface of first silicon member formed from single-crystal silicon. Next, a glass layer formed of borosilicate glass or the like is sputtered onto the surface of the silicon dioxide (SiO) layer. A silicon oxide (SiO, x&#x3c;2) layer is then formed on the surface of a second silicon member. The first and second silicon members and are bonded together by applying heat at about 450&#xb0; C. with heaters, as a DC voltage is applied across electrode terminals. As a result, a silicon dioxide (SiO) layer is formed at the interface of the glass layer and silicon oxide (SiO, x&#x3c;2) layer, anodically bonding the two layers.

Method of manufacturing an inkjet head through the anodic bonding of silicon members

An inkjet head is provided and includes: a chamber substrate for forming an ink flow passage; a diaphragm substrate including a diaphragm for pressurizing a pressure chamber disposed in the chamber substrate; and a nozzle substrate for jetting ink pressurized by the diaphragm, wherein the diaphragm substrate is made of silicon, the diaphragm is made of a material selected from the group of silicon oxide film and metal film, and the diaphragm is formed in the diaphragm substrate. A method of manufacturing the inkjet head is also provided.

Inkjet head and a method of manufacturing the same

To adhere an actuator unit onto one surface of a diaphragm, a dipping plate is used to evenly cling an adhesive agent to tip ends of a plurality of actuators formed in the actuator unit. The dipping plate is formed with a plurality of grooves corresponding to the respective ones of the plurality of actuators. An adhesive agent is poured into the grooves to the same level and the actuators are dipped into the adhesive pond while maintaining a state in which an imaginary first line that connects the tip ends of said plurality of actuators is in parallel with an imaginary second line that connects borders between immersed and non-immersed portions of the plurality of actuators. The actuators are drawn from the adhesive ponds and adhered to one surface of the diaphragm. An ink channel unit is connected to the opposite surface of the diagram.

Method of manufacturing ink jet head

An ink jet head including nozzles, ink chambers, and an ink channel in fluid communication with each other. A diaphragm defines one portion of each of the ink chambers. Piezoelectric actuators are disposed in confrontation with the diaphragm in a one-to-one correspondence with the ink chambers. A relay member is provided between each piezoelectric actuator and the diaphragm. Each relay member has a first abutment surface and a second abutment surface on opposite sides thereof. Each first abutment surface abuts the diaphragm across a width that extends in the nozzle alignment direction. The width of each first abutment surface is shorter than the width of the corresponding ink chamber. Each second abutment surface is coupled to the corresponding piezoelectric actuator and has a width that extends in the nozzle alignment direction. The width of each second abutment surface is equal to or shorter than the width of the corresponding piezoelectric actuator. The width of each first abutment surface is shorter than the width of each second abutment surface.

Ink jet head and method of production thereof

An inkjet print head with an ink channel unit (and a method therefore) includes a plurality of plates adhered together to form an inkjet head. An adhesive sheet for adhering together the plurality of plates, includes an adhesive element dispersed in a polymer matrix having an average molecular weight of 50,000 or more. The polymer matrix includes a resin.

Inkjet print head and method for making the same

The same material as the molded members is dissolved in solvent. The solvent is evaporated to form an adhesive layer. The molded members are adhered together via the adhesive layer. The molded members and the adhesive layer are heated and fused together to produce an ink jet head having a monocoque structure formed from a single material including the adhesive layer.
