A cartridge includes a drum unit and a developing unit. The developing unit is mountable in a space between first and second walls of the drum unit. While the developing unit is being mounted to the drum unit, in a posture in which the drum unit is mounted in the main assembly, the handle portion is moved downward in a direction of gravity and the developing unit is rotated so that the developing roller is moved closer to the photosensitive drum. In a state in which the developing unit is mounted to the drum unit, an urged portion of the developing unit is urged by an urging portion of the drum unit so that the developing roller and the photosensitive drum are in contact with each other.

Photosensitive member cartridge and process cartridge

A photosensitive member cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an image forming apparatus for forming an image, includes a frame; a photosensitive drum on which and which is provided in the frame; a transfer member for transferring an image formed on the drum onto the sheet; a mounting portion for detachably mounting a developing cartridge including a developer carrying member onto the drum and a memory for storing information; a first electrical contact provided on the frame and electrically connectable with a main assembly electrical contact provided in the main assembly when the cartridge is mounted to the main assembly; and a second electrical contact provided on the frame for electrically connecting the memory and the first electrical contact portion with each other when the developing cartridge is mounted to the mounting portion.

A drum cylinder unit includes a photoconductive drum and a flange member. The flange member includes a fixing portion fixed to an end of the photoconductive drum, a cylindrical portion which forms a hollow portion therein, a groove portion provided at an edge of the cylindrical portion, and a gear portion. The groove portion and the hollow portion open to an outside of an axial direction of the photoconductive drum.

A lubricant supplying method for supplying a lubricant to a sliding portion between a cylindrical rotatable member for use in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus and a supporting member for slidably supporting an inner peripheral surface at one end side of the rotatable member with respect to a rotational axis direction of the rotatable member, includes a step of engaging the supporting member, including a hollow portion and an opening which communicates with the hollow portion and is provided at a position in which the opening opposes the sliding portion, with the rotatable member at the one end side; and a step of supplying the lubricant from the hollow portion toward the sliding portion through the opening.

A cartridge mounted on an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes a molded resin complex in which a first resin molded product and a second resin molded product are engaged with each other so as to be separable. The first resin molded product is obtained by molding a first resin pervious to laser light, and the second resin molded product is obtained by molding a second resin absorptive to laser light. The first resin molded product and the second resin molded product are engaged with each other so as to be separable, by one or more protrusions of the second resin molded product which is formed by applying laser light from the first resin molded product side while placing the first resin molded product and the second resin molded product either in a close state or in a contact state. The cartridge further includes a developer containing frame containing a developer and a handle for drawing out a sealing member sealing a developer supplying opening of the developer containing frame, in which the first resin molded product is the handle, and the second resin molded product is the developer containing frame.

A process cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum; a processor actable on the electrophotographic photosensitive drum; a memory member for storing information about the process cartridge and for communicating with a communicator provided in the main assembly of the electrophotographic image forming apparatus; a cartridge frame supporting the electrophotographic photosensitive drum, the processor and the memory member, wherein the memory member is provided on a surface which crosses with an axis of the electrophotographic photosensitive drum, and when the process cartridge is mounted to the main assembly of the apparatus, the process cartridge is urged by an urging member provided in the main assembly in a direction from a side provided with the memory member to a side opposite therefrom.
