A remanufactured toner cartridge and related method includes a modified driven gear that is associated with an internal seal removal mechanism. The driven gear is modified so that driving rotational force from a printer is not transmitted to the seal removal mechanism during a post test of the remanufactured cartridge. When the post test is complete a fixing member, which may include a pin, is used to return the modified driven gear to an operational configuration so that when the cartridge is subsequently installed in a printer, driving rotational force from the printer is transmitted to the removal mechanism to remove the internal toner seal, thereby permitting cartridge operation.

Remanufactured toner cartridge and method

A method of refilling a used flexible toner container having a plurality of toner openings configured to discharge toner during a print operation. The method including forming a fill opening in the used flexible toner container. The fill opening may be formed separately from the toner openings. The method further including attaching a toner seal to the flexible toner container to cover the plurality of toner openings. The method further including, after attaching the toner seal, refilling the flexible toner container via the fill opening. The method further including sealing the fill opening.

The receiving portion includes an opened end that is configured to receive a toner container. The vacuum source is in fluid communication with the chamber.

A refurbished toner blade for a toner cartridge and a method for refurbishing a toner blade for a toner cartridge are provided. The refurbished toner blade includes a fixed portion configured for attachment to a portion of a toner cartridge, a depending portion extending away from the fixed portion, and a permanent deflection that is formed during refurbishment of the toner blade and that extends between the fixed portion and the depending portion. The refurbished toner blade is formed from a used toner blade in which the depending portion has obtained a permanent deformation in a first direction after an initial period of use. The permanent deflection deflects the depending portion in a second direction opposite the first direction.

System and method for refurbishing print cartridges and print cartridge toner blades

A sealing system and method for a remanufactured toner cartridge is provided. The remanufactured toner cartridge includes a first fixed portion, a second fixed portion spaced from the first fixed portion, and a seal having a fixed end, a free end, an engaging side, and a non-engaging side. An elongated member is inserted between the first fixed portion and the non-engaging side of the seal, and urges the engaging side of the seal into sealing engagement with the second fixed portion.
