A color CRT includes a panel having a fluorescent film formed on an inner surface, a tension mask frame assembly installed in the panel and including a frame including a pair of first and second support members separated a predetermined distance from each other, and first and second elastic members installed between the first and second support members to support the first and second support members and having support portions fixed at the first and second support members and a connection portion to connect the support portions, a mask having electron beam passing holes formed therein and installed such that a tension is applied to the first and second support members, and a correction unit installed at the first and second support members or support portions between the connection portion and the mask, to correct a mis-landing of an electron beam due to thermal expansion of the mask and the frame.

A funnel for a cathode ray tube includes a body portion having an opened end connected to a panel and an alignment mark formed on an outer surface of the body portion in the vicinity of the opened end, a neck portion for housing an electron gun, a yoke portion around which a deflection yoke is mounted, the yoke portion having a first end connected to the body portion at a top-of-round (TOR) and a second end connected to the neck portion. A convex portion having a thickness greater than 1 mm is provided on an outer portion of the body portion and/or yoke portion from the vicinity of the end of the alignment mark to the vicinity of the TOR in a direction of a tube axis.

Funnel for cathode ray tube

A cathode ray tube includes a panel with a substantially flat outer surface and an inner curved surface. The inner curved surface of the panel has a phosphor screen. A funnel is connected to the panel while externally mounting a deflection unit for deflecting electron beams. A neck is connected to the funnel while internally mounting an electron gun for emitting the electron beams. A color selection apparatus is internally fitted to the panel such that the electron beams land on correct phosphors of the phosphor screen. The panel has an effective screen with short and long axis. The panel bears a first thickness Th at the ends of the effective screen in the long axis direction, and a second thickness Tv at the ends of the effective screen in the short axis direction. The second thickness Tv of the panel is established to be larger than the first thickness Th of the panel. The color selection apparatus has a mask with short and long axis while bearing a plurality of beam-guide holes, and a frame combined with the mask such that the mask maintains a tensioned state. The mask is tensioned in the long axis direction while being supported by the frame.

A color selection apparatus for a cathode ray tube, having a panel as a front glass that is formed to be flat, including a pair of supporting members disposed to be separated by a predetermined distance, a pair of elastic members disposed between the supporting members to be coupled with the supporting members, and a mask coupled with the supporting members and formed with a plurality of electron beam passing apertures, the elastic members having a plurality of overlapped plate members, so that it becomes possible to maintain a tension of the mask formed with the plurality of electron beam passing apertures optimally by varying the shapes of the elastic members.
