To provide an aluminum nitride-based powder that includes less amount of fine powder that is hard to be completely removed, has superior filling performance for a polymeric material, and also has thermal conductivity. The present invention relates to an aluminum nitride-based powder comprising aluminum nitride-based particles, wherein (1) the average particle size D50 is 15 to 200 μm; (2) a content of particles having a particle size of at most 5 μm is at most 60% on a particle number basis; (3) a content of an alkaline earth metal element and a rare-earth element is at most 0.1 weight %; (4) a content of oxygen is at most 0.5 weight %; and (5) a content of silicon is at most 1000 ppm by weight, and a content of iron is at most 1000 ppm by weight.

Aluminum nitride-based powder and method for producing same

An aluminum alloy additive manufacturing product and a method manufactures the same. The aluminum alloy additive manufacturing product is formed by molding a raw metal by an additive manufacturing method. The raw metal is made of an aluminum alloy. The aluminum alloy contains Fe and one or more of Mn and Cr. The Fe is an inevitable impurity of 0.3 weight % or less. The one or more of Mn and Cr have a total weight of 0.3 to 10 weight %. The aluminum alloy additive manufacturing product contains any one or more of an intermetallic compound and an aluminum alloy solid solution. The intermetallic compound contains two or more of Al, Mn, Fe, and Cr. One or more elements of Mn, Fe, and Cr are dissolved in the aluminum alloy solid solution.

High-strength aluminum alloy laminated molding and production method therefor

A raw material for powder metallurgy contains at least 0.5 vol % and at most 10 vol % of alumina powder of which the sieve fraction with a sieve opening of 30 .mu.m is at most 0.1 wt %, and a remaining part of aluminum alloy powder. The moisture content of the alumina powder is at most 0.15 wt. % with respect to the alumina powder. Agglomeration of particles is thereby minimized or avoided. Highly reliable raw material for powder metallurgy having superior fatigue strength, impact resistance and wear resistance can be obtained. A high heat resisting and high abrasion resisting aluminum alloy and aluminum alloy powder have superior toughness, abrasion resistance, high temperature strength, and creep resistance and are useful to form engine parts for automobiles, airplanes, etc. The high heat resisting and high abrasion resisting aluminum alloy comprises 2 to 15 wt % of Ni, 0.2 to 15 wt % of Si, 0.6 to 8.0 wt % of Fe, one or two of 0.6 to 5.0 wt % of Cu and 0.5 to 3 wt % of Mg, the total amount of Cu and Mg being equal to or less than 6 wt %, one or two of 0.3 to 3 wt % of Zr and 0.3 to 3 wt % of Mo, the total amount of Zr and Mo being equal to or less than 4 wt %, 0.05 to 10 wt % of B, and the balance of Al and unavoidable impurities, and is produced by powder metallurgy.

High heat resisting and high abrasion resisting aluminum alloy

An aluminum alloy powder for sliding members includes Fe in an amount of from 0.5 to 5.0% by weight, Cu in an amount of from 0.6 to 5.0% by weight, B in an amount of from 0.1 to 2.0% by weight and the balance of Al. An aluminum alloy includes a matrix made from the aluminum alloy powder and at least one member dispersed, with respect to whole of the matrix taken 100% by weight, in the matrix, and selected from the group consisting of B in an amount of from 0.1 to 5.0% by weight, boride in an amount of from 1.0 to 15% by weight and iron compound in an amount of from 1.0 to 15% by weight, and thereby it exhibits the tensile strength of 400 MPa or more. The aluminum alloy powder and the aluminum alloy are suitable for making sliding members like valve lifters for automobiles.

Disclosed are heat resistant aluminum alloy powder and alloy including Ni in an amount of from 5.7 to 20% by weight, Si in an amount of from 6.0 to 25% by weight, at least one of Fe in an amount of from 0.6 to 8.0% by weight and Cu in an amount of from 0.6 to 5.0% by weight, and at least one of B in a form of the simple substance in an amount of from 0.05 to 2.0% by weight (or from 0.05 to 10% by weight for the alloy) and graphite particles (especially for the alloy) in an amount of from 0.1 to 10% by weight. The alloy powder and alloy are not only superb in the tensile strength at room temperature and high temperatures but also superior in the sliding characteristic, they can be further upgraded in the wear resistance and the fretting fatigue resistance by dispersing at least one of nitride particles, boride particles, oxide particles and carbide particles in an amount of from 0.5 to 10% by weight with respect to the whole composite material including the matrix taken as 100% by weight in the matrix, thereby resulting in a heat and wear resistant aluminum alloy-based composite materials. The alloy powder, alloy and composite material are satisfactorily applicable to the component parts of the recent automobile engines which should be light-weight and produce a high output.

Disclosed herein is an aluminum matrix composite powder comprising 1 to 40% by weight of ceramic particles dispersed in a matrix of aluminum-silicon alloy. The matrix of the composite may further comprise at least one of Cu, Mg and transition metals. The aluminum matrix composite is prepared by a rapid solidification. In the aluminum matrix composite, the ceramic particles are very uniformly dispersed in the matrix, thereby the improvement of mechanical properties of product prepared therefrom can be obtained.

An aluminum alloy consists essentially of 90 to 99.5% by weight of matrix and 0.5 to 10% by weight of a dispersant dispersed within the matrix. The matrix comprises 10 to 25% by weight of Si, 5 to 20% by weight of Ni, 1 to 5% by weight of Cu and the rest of Al and impurity elements. The dispersant is at least one selected from the group consisting of 0.5 to 10% of nitride, boride, carbide and oxide. The aluminum alloy shows excellent tensile strength and wear resistance.

A hypereutectic aluminum-silicon alloy produced by a powder metallurgy technique disclosed herein comprises 12 to 50% by weight of silicon, 1.0 to 5.0% by weight of copper and 0.01 to 0.05% by weight of phosphorus, the content of Ca as an impurity being controlled to be 0.03% by weight or less. The hyereutectic aluminum-silicon alloy of the present invention is excellent in machinability and mechanical strength.
