Apparatus for achieving contact-less linking between a transmitting unit and a receiving unit when transmitting video signal, audio signal, control signal, or digital data therebetween. The apparatus includes a switch circuit which switches the output signal of a light emitting integrated circuit to a first set of light guides for spatial transmission of an optical signal representing the video, audio and control signals and digital data and to a second set of light guides for near-by transmission of the optical signal.

Apparatus for transmitting lightwave

An apparatus for processing video signals to produce a combined picture video signal from which a large picture and one or more small pictures being inset in the large picture are simultaneously reproduced on a display screen. Video signals providing image information for small pictures are stored in a memory mainly on the basis of a storage control signal produced from a result of a phase comparison between a reference signal and a vertical sync signal separated from each of the video signals providing image information for small pictures. The reference signal has pulses recurrent with a period twice the repetition period of pulses of the vertical sync signal in the video signal or identical with the repetition period of pulses of a horizontal sync signal in the video signal, and assumes a relatively high level and a relatively low level alternately with a duty factor of 50%.

Picture-in-picture television apparatus with sync controlled memory

Analog-to-digital converters of an image processor dealing with multiple input video signals are each provided with a sync separation circuit for extracting the sync signal from the input video signal and a frequency divider which is reset by the sync signal and adapted to reduce the clock frequency. The frequency dividers have an equal reduction ratio and equal clock, and produce sampling clocks used for the analog-to-digital conversion.

Video monitoring apparatus with plural inputs

A memory controlling apparatus for a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus which records and reproduces a field image signal in each read or write cycle performed by a video head for reproducing the image signal from a magnetic tape, and by a video head position detector for detecting the position of the video head. A reference circuit obtains a signal defining a reference timing which is independent of the position of the video head and which is also used to determine the phase of the video head. A memory is provided having storage sufficient to store the field image signal, and a controller is provided for controlling the operation of reading and writing the image signal from and into the memory. The controller is synchronized with a signal of the video head position detector when storing the image signal into the memory and when reading out the image stored in the memory, the controller and the head position detector are synchronized with the reference timing so as to enable production of a slow-motion image signal free from fluctuations caused by feeding of the magnetic tape.

A memory controlling apparatus for a magnetic recording and reproducing

A magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus, in which a video signal is recorded on and reproduced from a magnetic tape by helical scanning with a plurality of rotary magnetic heads, comprises a field memory storing a one-field portion of the video signal in accordance with an address signal, a circuit generating a control signal controlling memory read/write operations, a circuit generating a substituting signal substituting a predetermined period of the output signal of the field memory, and a circuit for setting the period of substitution, so that the substitution starting position is changed over in synchronism with the timing of starting the write operation.
