A cutting insert includes first and second polygonal surfaces and a plurality of side surfaces. A corner edge that has a corner rake surface on the first polygonal surface is formed at a first corner portion, and a main cutting edge is formed from the corner edge to a second corner portion. The main cutting edge includes, at least on a corner edge side, a rake angle gradual increase region where a rake angle of a main rake surface gradually increases to a positive angle side as going from a first end portion of the corner edge toward a second corner portion side.

In a frame structure of a motor, when the number of angles of a frame is 4M (M is a natural number, and M&#x2265;1), and the number of slots of an armature core is 6N (N is a natural number, and N&#x2265;1), the armature core is inserted into the frame in such a manner as to form a variation &#x3b8; within a predetermined range in a circumferential direction between a reference line that is orthogonal to two opposing sides of the frame and passes through a rotation axis of the frame, and a straight line linking magnetic poles symmetric about a point with respect to the rotation axis.

A bobbin structure of an armature of a three-phase motor having 6N (N is a natural number) slots and 3N coils per phase, the bobbin structure including: a main pole into which a winding bobbin around which a coil is wound is inserted; and an auxiliary pole into which an empty bobbin around which the coil is not wound is inserted. The main pole and the auxiliary pole are placed in a circumferential direction with respect to a rotation axis, and a contact portion where the empty bobbin and the winding bobbin are in contact with each other is formed on each of an outer peripheral side and an inner peripheral side of the slot formed between the main pole and the auxiliary pole.

In the armature structure of a three-phase motor, a coil wound around a winding bobbin inserted into the slot is wound around the main pole, the coil is not wound around the auxiliary pole, the main poles and the auxiliary poles are alternately placed, the winding bobbin includes a barrel portion and a flange portion, the barrel portion is in contact with a side surface in a circumferential direction of the main pole in the slot, the flange portion rises in the slot from the barrel portion along a first outer peripheral bottom portion of the slot, a side surface in the circumferential direction of the auxiliary pole, an outer peripheral surface of the coil, and a second outer peripheral bottom portion of the slot define a gap area that is not occupied by the coil, in the slot, and the second outer peripheral bottom portion is continuous to the first outer peripheral bottom portion, and extends in a direction intersecting the first outer peripheral bottom portion.

A cutting insert includes an insert body; a pair of first surfaces; a through hole extending in a direction of a first axis; a second surface which connects the first surfaces and faces a direction of a second axis orthogonal to the first axis; a third surface which is disposed on the circumferential surface and is connected to the first surfaces and the second surface and faces a direction of a third axis; and cutting edges located at an intersection ridge line between the first surface and the second surface and at an intersection ridge line between the second surface and the third surface. The second surface has a projection part protruding in the direction of the second axis, and as viewed from the direction of the second axis, the through hole and the projection part are disposed to overlap each other.

A minor cutting edge has a first minor cutting edge and a second minor cutting edge that extends inward of the insert in a direction of an insert short side face axial line, as the second minor cutting edge extends from the first minor cutting edge in a direction of an insert major face axial line. A flank face of the second minor cutting edge is inclined outward of the insert in the direction of the insert short side face axial line, as the flank face extends from the second minor cutting edge in the direction of an insert long side face axial line, and is inclined outward of the insert in the direction of the insert short side face axial line, as the flank face extends from a major face adjacent to the flank face in the direction of the insert major face axial line.

A rotating tool includes a tool body which rotates around an axial line, four or more chip discharge grooves which are formed on an outer periphery of the tool body with gaps therebetween in a circumferential direction, and a plurality of cutting inserts which are arranged in multiple stages along the chip discharge grooves. In a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the axial line, when a center angle formed between a pair of virtual straight lines which connects each of the cutting edges of the cutting inserts disposed in a pair of chip discharge grooves adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction and the axial line to each other is defined as an angle, a plurality of angles formed around the axial line include one maximum angle (&#x3b8;max), one minimum angle (&#x3b8;min), and two or more angles other than the angle (&#x3b8;max) and the angle (&#x3b8;min).

A roughing end mill comprises an end mill body and plural inserts which are placed on an outer circumference of the end mill body with a predetermined distance apart from each other in the axial direction of the end mill body, wherein the plural inserts form plural insert rows which are provided in a circumferential direction of the end mill body, where the inserts are offset in the axial direction from each other between the different insert rows which are adjacent in the circumferential direction. The inserts have waveform cutting edges which face towards an outer circumferential side of the end mill body. One insert of one insert row and an insert of another insert row are positioned such that the waveform cutting edges of each of these inserts make up a waveform cutting edge row whose phase is continuous on a rotation trajectory around the axis.

This roughing insert is provided with an insert body, and a waveform cutting edge which is formed on an intersecting ridge line portion between a rake face and a flank face of the insert body, and which undulates along this intersecting ridge line portion. The waveform cutting edges are formed on the insert body respectively at positions which are rotationally symmetrical at predetermined angular intervals around a reference line of the insert bodies. These waveform cutting edges which are positioned rotationally symmetrically to each other are formed such that, when the insert bodies are rotated by the predetermined angle around the reference line, one or more portions of the waveform cutting edges do not match each other and are mutually asymmetrical.

The cutting insert is provided with a polygonal-shaped insert main body () having two polygonal surfaces () spaced away from each other and a plurality of side surfaces formed between these polygonal surfaces and also provided with cutting edges (A,B,C) formed as a rake face on a peripheral edge of a first side surface () among the plurality of side surfaces. Among the plurality of side surfaces, a second side surface () which is positioned on the opposite side of the first side surface and given as a seating surface in contact with an insert seat of the tool main body for attaching the cutting insert is formed in a V-shape when viewed from the thickness direction of the insert main body and includes two contact portions (A,A), each of which is formed in a raised curve shape on a cross section along the thickness direction, and the two contact portions are formed in a recessed V-shape so as to be greater in depth moving toward the center of the second side surface on the cross section along the thickness direction.
