Running of a root instance of an application is started. The root instance includes at least one thread. In response to determining that a thread of the root instance runs to a preset freezing point in the application, running of all threads of the root instance is stopped. In response to starting to run an additional instance of the application, a running state of all threads of the root instance is replicated as a running state of all threads of the additional instance of the application. Running all threads of the additional instance of the application is continued.

Running a plurality of instances of an application

A method, system and computer program product for performance configuration of an application by setting at least one performance preference for a performance-sensitive class in the application, specifying performance preference propagation policy of the class in the application based on the at least one performance preference, and calling the class to perform performance configuration for application according to the performance preference propagation policy.

Fine-grained performance configuration of application

A device or system for operating one or more electrochemical cells, such as a rechargeable fuel cell, is provided. A plurality of subsystems include a humidity level control subsystem, a reagent gas delivery subsystem, and a gas scrubbing subsystem. A method for operating the device or system is also provided.

Rechargeable fuel cell system

An apparatus is provided that relates to an electrochemical cell assembly. The apparatus is capable of controlling water loss from a fuel cell, at least in part by separating gas and liquid fluid flows. A variety of flow designs are provided that separate liquid electrolyte flow from reagent gas flow. Some flow designs may be suitable for one or more of fuel cells, rechargeable fuel cells, and batteries such as metal hydride batteries. Furthermore, some embodiments may include a single electrochemical cell, or plurality of cells arranged in parallel or in series. Some embodiments may also relate to methods of mitigating water loss from an electrochemical cell assembly.

Fuel cell apparatus and associated method

An apparatus including a housing having walls is provided. The walls of the housing each have inner surfaces and outer surfaces. The walls may include apertures extending from the inner surface to the outer surface. The inner surfaces of the walls define a volume. The volume includes an electrode. The volume further includes a water-controlling separator disposed between the inner surface of the housing and the electrode. The water-controlling separator can block a flow of liquid from the electrode through the apertures to the ambient environment while allowing oxidant to flow from the ambient environment through the apertures to the electrode.

A method, system and Web service broker with requester's explicit control for dynamic Web service invocation. In accordance with the method a Web service request is constructed by a Web service requester, in which invocation criteria customized by the requester are included and the Web service request is sent to a Web service broker. The Web service broker discovers and invokes Web service implementation candidates that meet the invocation criteria based on the Web service request and returns the best invocation result as well as a session identifier for identifying this service request to the requester. The requester can explicitly control the process of Web service invocations through customized Web service requests, thus delegating the whole invocation process to a Web services broker to reduce the complexity of client-side tasks. In addition, the Web service invocation allows a series of invocations with a consistent business sense to be directed to the same Web service interface.
