The present invention provides a method for performing a decomposition treatment on a VOC and/or a gas-phase inorganic reducing compound in a gas through ozone oxidation, by which further enhancement of efficiency in oxidative decomposition reaction by ozone is achieved, a decomposition treatment can be performed efficiently on a high-flow rate exhaust gas containing substances such as a VOC and a malodorous substance in low concentrations, and the amount of ozone to be used can be reduced in a method for performing oxidative decomposition treatment with ozone on a VOC and the like using a high silica adsorbent. The present invention is a method for performing an oxidative decomposition treatment with ozone on a VOC and/or a gas-phase inorganic reducing compound in a gas, the method including adding/mixing an ozone gas into a gas containing a VOC and the like, and then bringing a resultant mixed gas into contact with a high silica adsorbent being a packed porous body to perform decomposition treatment on the VOC and the like through ozone oxidation, wherein a porous body including the high silica adsorbent as a base material, and a particulate powder of a transition metal-containing oxide having a BET specific surface area of 80 mor more, the particulate powder carried on the base material, is used as a packing material.

Ozone oxidation decomposition treatment method for VOCs and/or gaseous inorganic reducing compounds in gas

The present invention provides a method for performing a purification treatment on a harmful substance-containing liquid, the method enabling an efficient purification treatment of a harmful substance-containing liquid by using dissolved ozone being an oxidizing agent with high level of safety, and a harmful substance-containing liquid purification treatment apparatus for carrying out the method. A method for performing a purification treatment on a harmful substance-containing liquid, the method comprising adding and mixing dissolved ozone into a harmful substance-containing liquid containing a harmful substance, thereafter bringing the harmful substance-containing liquid into contact with a transition metal-containing oxide having a BET specific surface area of 80 m/g or more, adsorbing ozone, and adsorbing a harmful substance, and then allowing the harmful substance-containing liquid to flow to accelerate oxidation of the harmful substance by dissolved ozone, thereby performing a highly efficient oxidative decomposition, and a harmful substance-containing liquid purification treatment apparatus for carrying out the method.

The gas separation device includes an adsorption tower having at least one part thereof exposed to an atmosphere at a higher or lower temperature than normal temperature, a mixed gas feed unit, an adsorbent provided inside the adsorption tower to adsorb a matter contained in a mixed gas upon contact with the mixed gas in a prescribed pressure and temperature environment, and separate the matter from the mixed gas, a separated gas discharge unit that discharges a separated gas from the adsorption tower, and an adsorbed gas discharge unit that discharges from the adsorption tower the adsorbed gas which is adsorbed by the adsorbent. Heat reserving elements are arranged in the adsorption tower at positions upstream and downstream of the adsorbent in the mixed gas supply direction respectively such that the mixed gas, separated gas, and adsorbed gas flow through the heat reserving elements.

Gas separation device and gas separation method

A simple and inexpensive gas separation device is provided. The gas separation device () includes: an adsorption tower () having an adsorbent () that adsorbs oxygen in a prescribed pressure and temperature environment, with at least one section thereof being exposed to a higher temperature atmosphere than a normal temperature; a first feed passage () connected to the adsorption tower for guiding into the adsorption tower air that has been blown from a blower device (); a second feed passage () for guiding air, at a lower flow rate than the first feed passage, into the adsorption tower; a separated gas discharge path () connected to the adsorption tower for discharging a separated gas; a first heat exchanging unit () for exchanging heat between the separated gas discharged from the adsorption tower and the air guided into the adsorption tower from the first feed passage; an oxygen discharge unit () for reducing a pressure inside the adsorption tower, causing oxygen to desorb from the adsorption agent, and discharging oxygen from the adsorption tower; and a second heat exchanging unit () for exchanging heat between oxygen and the air guided into the adsorption tower from the second feed passage.

An apparatus for manufacturing high concentration ozone gas, characterized by employing a pressure swing adsorbing apparatus having a plurality of adsorbing layers filled with ozone adsorbent, in which the ozone adsorbent is one or two or more kinds of adsorbent selected from the group consisting of high silica pentasyl zeolite, dealuminized fogersite, and mesoporous silicate. A method and apparatus for manufacturing high concentration ozone gas, characterized by employing a TSA adsorbing system, discharging oxygen concentrated gas at a relatively low temperature from the adsorbing layers, passing purge gas at a relatively high temperature into the adsorbing layers in the desorbing process in an opposite direction of the gas flow in the adsorbing process, and recovering the concentrated ozone gas continuously, in which the ozone adsorbent is one or two or more kinds of above adsorbent, and the gas containing ozone from the ozone generating apparatus is cooled by the oxygen concentrated gas at a relatively low temperature flowing out from the adsorbing layers in the adsorbing process.

Apparatus for manufacturing high concentration ozone gas

Ozone generated from an ozonizer is added to a polluted gas containing harmful substances, which is generated from a polluted gas source. Then, the ozone-added polluted gas is allowed to flow through an adsorbing layer containing a high-silica adsorbent that adsorbs both ozone and harmful substances. The harmful substances contained in the polluted gas are converted into harmless substances within the adsorbing layer by the action of the ozone.

Method and apparatus for processing polluted gas containing harmful substances

A polluted fluid, such as exhaust gas from a refuse incinerator, containing at least one pollutant, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), SOx or NOx, is processed by passing the polluted fluid through an adsorbing layer containing a high-silica adsorbent capable of adsorbing both ozone and at least one pollutant to adsorb at least one pollutant on the adsorbent. An object of the present invention is to provide an ozone adsorbent which has high ozone-adsorbing power even in a moisture-containing system and exhibits a high degree of ozone retention (and a low degree of ozone decomposition), as well as a molded product made by molding this ozone adsorbent into a form adapted to practical use, and a method of making the same. The present invention provides an ozone adsorbent comprising one or more members selected from the group consisting of high-silica pentasilzeolite having a SiO,/Al,O,ratio of not less than 70, dealuminized faujasite having a SiO,/Al,O,ratio of not less than 20, and mesoporous silicate having a SiO,/Al,O,ratio of not less than 20, as well as an ozone-adsorbing molded product and a method of making the same.

Ozone storage/recovery method

A method for collecting volatile organic substances from an off-gas containing moisture and volatile organic substances. The organic substances are removed from the gas containing the organic substances and the moisture by introducing the gas into an adsorbing tower filled with the adsorbents and being in the adsorbing process under a relatively low temperature condition. The gas is discharged outside the system as the gas containing the moisture but from which the organic substances have been removed. The organic substances are desorbed under a relatively high temperature condition in the regenerating process for the regeneration. The moisture is removed from the desorbed gas discharged from the adsorbent regenerating process in a dehumidifying tower filled with the moisture absorbent by the temperature swing method or pressure swing method. The obtained dry gas containing a high concentration of organic substances is introduced into a liquefier to be cooled and/or pressurized and to be liquefied so that the organic substances are collected. It is therefore possible to collect the organic substances at a high concentration magnification rate without degrading the organic substances and the adsorbents.

Method for collecting volatile organic substances

A method for collecting volatile organic substances from off-gas containing moisture and volatile organic substances. After the moisture has been removed by a dehumidifying tower filled with moisture absorbent for selectively adsorbing the moisture from the gas containing the organic substances and the moisture, the organic substances are adsorbed and removed under a relatively low temperature condition. The organic substances is desorbed under a relatively high temperature condition from the adsorbing tower which is saturated with the organic substances. The desorbed organic substances are liquefied and collected under a low temperature and/or pressurizing condition. The dry gas from which the organic substances have been removed and made harmless is heated if necessary. Thereafter, the dry gas is purged in a counter flow manner in the dehumidifying tower which is saturated with the moisture to perform the regeneration of the moisture absorbent and is discharged to the outside of the system together with the desorbed moisture.

The gasification-combined power plant of the present invention has a structure wherein a fuel gas is generated by partially oxidizing a carbon-containing fuel 2 with an oxygen-containing gas 3 in the gasification apparatus 1, the sensible heat of the fuel gas is recovered by the heat exchanger 4, char and dust are removed from the fuel gas by the dust collector 5, trace gas components, such as H.sub.2 S and NH.sub.3, are simultaneously removed from the waste gas by the gas separation apparatus 6 based on dry physical adsorption of these components (for example, by a pressure swing adsorption method), the thus separated and removed gas containing high concentrations of trace gas components, such as H.sub.2 S and NH.sub.3, is denitrated and desulfurized by the gas disposal apparatus 7 and then is discharged from the chimney 13 into the atmosphere. With the simultaneous removal of the trace gas components at a high temperature from the fuel gas produced by the gasification apparatus, this plant simultaneously achieves both a high heat efficiency for the gasification-combined power plant as a whole and the reduction of sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides in the combustion waste gas from the gas turbine.
