The cooling device for a power source for a ship propulsion device that pumps up cooling water, from which foreign matters with sizes that cause clogging of a cooling water route have been removed, supplies the cooling water to a cooling water passage (), and discharges the cooling water to outside after cooling a power source () includes: a cartridge-type filtration device () that is provided at a midpoint of a first water passage () in the cooling water route and incorporates a filter () for filtrating foreign matters remaining in the cooling water; and a second water passage () that is branched from the first water passage and adapted such that a valve member () is opened to cause the cooling water to flow in a case in which clogging occurs in the filter.

The cooling device for a power source for a ship propulsion device that pumps up cooling water, from which foreign matters with sizes that cause clogging of a cooling water route have been removed, supplies the cooling water to a cooling water passage (), and discharges the cooling water to outside after cooling a power source () includes: a filtration device (A,B) provided in the cooling water route to filtrate foreign matters remaining in the cooling water, and the filtration device is of a cartridge type that incorporates a filter () for filtration disposed in a main water passage (P) and a valve member () configured to open and close a bypass water passage (P) and that is configured such that in a case in which clogging occurs in the filter, the valve member opens to cause the cooling water to flow via the bypass water passage.

An outboard motor includes an outboard-motor main-body, an anti-ventilation plate, and a foreign-matter collection apparatus. The anti-ventilation plate is provided on the outboard-motor main-body. The foreign-matter collection apparatus is provided above the anti-ventilation plate and outside the outboard-motor main-body and located at a height such that a water intake is submerged under water when a ship to which the outboard-motor main-body has been attached is in a pre-planing state.

Outboard motor

First to fourth exhaust passages are provided in a raw blank of a cylinder block, which can be used for both a first exhaust route and a second exhaust route, one of which is selected for use as an exhaust passage. In the first exhaust route, a fifth exhaust passage couples between opening ends of the first and second exhaust passages and is formed in a separate member from the cylinder block, exhaust gas is allowed to flow via the fourth, first, fifth, second, and third exhaust passages, and a catalyst is placed in the exhaust passages. In the second exhaust route, a communication hole is provided in a partition wall between the fourth exhaust passage and the second exhaust passage while the opening ends of the first and second exhaust passages are closed, and the exhaust gas is allowed to flow via the fourth, second, and third exhaust passages.

Ship propulsion device

A fuel supply unit includes a vapor separator that performs vapor-liquid separation for fuel pumped up by a low-pressure fuel pump; a fuel filter that filters the fuel subjected to vapor-liquid separation in the vapor separator; an in-line type high-pressure fuel pump that has an inlet port for receiving the fuel filtered by the fuel filter and pumping the fuel received from the inlet port from an outlet port, the inlet port being located under a fuel liquid level of the vapor separator; a fuel injector that injects the fuel pumped by the high-pressure fuel pump to the engine; and a fuel flow path connected from the vapor separator to the inlet port of the high-pressure fuel pump via a lower side of the inlet port of the high-pressure fuel pump, wherein the fuel filter is arranged in the lowermost part of the fuel flow path.

Outboard motor fuel supply unit

An outboard motor includes a multi-cylinder engine which includes cylinders longitudinally oriented and vertically paralleled in a cylinder block, a cylinder head arranged at a rearward position of the cylinder blocks, and a crankcase arranged at a forward position of the cylinder block, the cylinder head having an outlet of an exhaust port at one side thereof. An exhaust system for the outboard motor includes an exhaust manifold which communicates the outlet of the exhaust port with an exhaust outlet opening, the exhaust manifold including a first exhaust gas passage extending in a vertical direction for gathering exhaust gas discharged from the outlet of each exhaust port and a second exhaust gas passage extending in a vertical direction adjacently to the first exhaust gas passage, and a catalyst unit is provided on the way of the second exhaust gas passage.

Exhaust system of outboard motor

An outboard motor of fuel injection type includes a fuel supply system which comprises a fuel tank in which a fuel is stored, a low pressure fuel filter and a low pressure fuel pump connected to the fuel tank through a fuel supply hose, a vapor separator connected to the low pressure fuel pump through a low pressure fuel hose, a high pressure fuel pump disposed inside the vapor separator, a pressure regulator disposed inside the vapor separator, a fuel hose having one end connected to the high pressure fuel pump, a branch pipe incorporated on the way of the fuel hose and having one end connected to the pressure regulator, and a delivery pipe connected to another one end of the branch pipe. A fuel injector is connected to the delivery pipe and adapted to inject the fuel with pressure regulated by the pressure regulator.
