An electrical connector includes: an insulative housing; a terminal module received by the insulative housing, the terminal module including an insulator, a plurality of terminals, and an internal, horizontal printed circuit board (PCB) carrying plural magnetic components; and a shielding shell enclosing the insulative housing and the PCB, wherein the insulative housing has a pair of restraining slots receiving a front of the insulator, and the shielding shell has a pair of abutting arms received between the insulator and the PCB.

A stacked receptacle connector includes an insulative housing forming a first receiving cavity extending along a front-to-back direction, a second receiving cavity stacked on the first receiving cavity along a vertical direction perpendicular to the front-to-back direction, and a mounting cavity located behind and communicating with the first and second receiving cavities. A printed circuit board (PCB) is mounted to the mounting cavity. A first connector having a front portion received in the first receiving cavity and a rear portion connected to the PCB. The first connector is fitted to be inserted by a first plug connector along two opposite direction. A plurality of contacts each has a mating portion received in the second receiving cavity and a mounting portion connected with the PCB. A plurality of footer pins connected the PCB to electrically connect the first connector and the contacts to an exterior substrate.

Stacked electrical connector

A modular jack has an insulative housing, two adjacent internal modules, and a middle shield disposed between the adjacent internal modules. The insulative housing has a front wall and a plurality of openings therein configured as pairs of first and second aligned openings, and a receptacle located behind the openings. Each opening is configured to receive a plug connector therein in a front-to-back direction. The middle shield extends towards a front wall of the insulative to define two module receiving cavities each receiving one internal module. The middle shield includes a conductive plate and an insulative sheet affixed thereto. The insulative sheet faces to the internal modules for insulation between the internal modules and the conductive plate. The insulative sheet is very thin that it occupies little space of the receptacle, thereby reducing a size of the modular jack.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a contact module, and a magnetic module. The insulative housing defines a receiving cavity forwardly communicating with an exterior plug and a mounting cavity located behind the receiving cavity. The contact module includes a set of mating contacts each having a contacting portion exposed within the receiving cavity and a set of mounting contacts for connecting to an exterior substrate. The magnetic module is received in the mounting cavity and electrically connecting the mating contacts to corresponding mounting contacts. The magnetic module includes a printed circuit board (PCB) and four isolated transformers surface mounted on a same face thereof. The four discrete transformers are arranged on a limited space of the PCB.

A modular jack () adapted for receiving a pair of mating connectors includes an insulative housing () having a pair of cavities () for receiving the corresponding mating connectors, a number of terminal modules () received in the cavities for electrically connecting with the mating connector, and a conductive outer shield () enclosing the corresponding insulative housing. The modular jack further has a detachable grounding member () made from conductive material and electrically connected with the conductive outer shield for grounding. The grounding member has a number of contacting plates () extending into the corresponding cavities for connecting and grounding the corresponding mating connectors.
