A liquid crystal display device includes an array substrate, an opposite substrate and a liquid crystal display layer. The array substrate includes a pixel electrode and a lower reactive mesogen layer. The pixel electrode includes a plurality of slit portions disposed on a plurality of domains in different directions. The lower reactive mesogen layer is disposed on the pixel electrode to induce an inclined direction of liquid crystal molecules. The opposite substrate includes an upper substrate. An upper reactive mesogen layer is disposed on a common electrode of the opposite substrate. The liquid crystal layer includes liquid crystal molecules arranged to have a pretilt angle between a surface of the lower reactive mesogen layer and a surface of the upper reactive mesogen layer.

Liquid crystal display device and method of manufacturing the same

A liquid crystal display panel may include a first substrate, a second substrate facing the first substrate and including a plurality of colloidal particles obtained by thermally treating a surface of the second substrate facing the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and second substrates to contain liquid crystal molecules. The size of each of the plurality of colloidal particles may vary according to the length of time heat is applied.

Thin film transistor array substrate and liquid crystal display panel having the same

A display device includes a first substrate, a middle layer, a first liquid crystal layer, a second substrate, a pixel part and a second liquid crystal layer. A first common electrode is on the first substrate. The middle layer includes a lenticular array, and a control electrode on the lenticular array. The control electrode faces the first common electrode. The first liquid crystal layer is between the middle layer and the first substrate, and a second common electrode is on a back side of the middle layer. The pixel part includes a plurality of pixel electrodes on the second substrate and facing the second common electrode. The second liquid crystal layer is between the second common electrode and the pixel part.

Display devices and methods of manufacturing the same

A liquid crystal display is provided that includes first and second panels facing each other, an alignment layer disposed on at least one of the first and second panels, a fixing member disposed on the surface of the alignment layer to fix the alignment structure of the alignment layer, and liquid crystal materials disposed between the first and second panels. A method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display includes; forming a mother substrate assembly by disposing a liquid crystal mixture layer having liquid crystals and a light curable alignment supplement between a first mother substrate and a second mother substrate of a liquid crystal display, and disposing a light curable sealant surrounding the liquid crystal mixture layer, pre-tilting liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal mixture layer by applying a voltage to the first mother substrate and the second mother substrate, and simultaneously hardening the alignment supplement and the sealant by radiating light to the mother substrate assembly while applying the voltage to the first mother substrate and the second mother substrate.

Method of manufacturing liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display (LCD) comprises a first substrate comprising a pixel electrode comprising one or more first domain-forming features and further comprising a first vertical alignment film disposed on the pixel electrode; a second substrate facing the first substrate and comprising a common electrode which comprises one or more second domain-forming features and further comprises a second vertical alignment film disposed on the common electrode; and a liquid crystal compound interposed between the first and second substrates, wherein the liquid crystal compound comprises liquid crystal molecules, ultraviolet (UV) hardening monomers and UV hardening initiators, and the liquid crystal molecules are pre-tilted to form an angle greater than 88 degrees but less than 90 degrees with respect to the first substrate when no driving power is applied to the pixel and common electrodes. Fast response time is provided in some embodiments.

Liquid crystal display and method of fabricating the same

A liquid crystal display includes a first insulating substrate, a pixel electrode disposed on the first insulating substrate, a second insulating substrate facing the first insulating substrate, a common electrode disposed on the second insulating substrate without patterning, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and second insulating substrates. The pixel electrode is divided into a plurality of domains that include a plurality of microelectrodes arranged substantially parallel to each other and are connected through a connecting pattern. The connecting pattern is formed by connecting the end of microelectrodes of each domain to the side of microelectrodes of adjacent domains.
