A stereoscopic image processing device including a depth map generation unit and a depth map correction unit. The depth map generation unit uses a first viewpoint image and a second viewpoint image to acquire depth values in units of blocks constituted of a plurality of pixels and generate a depth map. The depth map correction unit performs a judgment in the depth map as to whether or not a boundary region is included in a block of interest based on depth values of blocks surrounding the block of value, which is a block to be processed, and, if a boundary region is judged to be included in the block of interest, corrects the depth values in units of correction regions, which are units which are smaller than blocks, in the block of interest.

An object of the present invention is to provide a novel stereoscopic display device that allows the viewer to properly view a stereoscopic image. The device includes: a display configured to display an image for stereoscopic viewing; an imaging unit configured to image a face of a viewer; a position information acquisition unit configured to acquire position information regarding the face imaged by the imaging unit; an operation unit configured to be operated by the viewer when the viewer is in an optimal position from where the image for stereoscopic viewing displayed on the display can be properly viewed as a stereoscopic image; an optimal position information storage unit configured to store position information provided when the operation unit is operated as position information on the optimal position; and a positional relationship notification unit configured to notify the viewer of the positional relationship between the current position of the viewer and the optimal position.

Stereoscopic display device

An instrument panel display system displays vehicle information, amenity information, and safety information as images. In this instrument panel display system, data (image data, image layout data, and image output control data) for displaying the images are generated in a shared manner by a vehicle system processor, an amenity system processor, and a safety system processor. On account of this, the stability of image display on an instrument panel of a vehicle or the like is improved and hence safety of driving is increased.
