A touch sensor according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a substrate layer, and sensing electrodes which are disposed on the substrate layer, and have etching regions formed therein in a periodically repeated manner and respectively having a width of 5 to 15 &#x3bc;m. Through the etching regions, transmittance may be improved and optical interference with an image display device may be reduced. The present invention also provides a window stack structure and an image display device including the touch sensor.

A touch sensor includes a substrate, and an electrode formed from a conductive stack structure including a first conductive oxide layer, a copper-containing metal layer and a second conductive oxide layer sequentially stacked from the substrate. The first conductive oxide layer and the second conductive oxide layer each include a copper-metal oxide. Chemical and mechanical stability of an electrode may be improved by the first and second conductive oxide layers.

A touch sensor according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a substrate layer, sensing electrodes arranged on a top surface of the substrate layer, the sensing electrodes having boundaries in which a plurality of convex portions are connected, and a dummy electrode disposed between the sensing electrodes, the dummy electrode having a boundary in which a plurality of convex portions are connected. The sensing electrodes include a first sensing electrode arranged in a column direction and a second sensing electrode arranged in a row direction. A convex portion in a region where the first sensing electrode, the second sensing electrode and the dummy electrode are adjacent to each other has a radius of curvature less than that of a convex portion in other regions.

Touch sensor and image display device including the same

A touch sensor according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a substrate layer, and sensing electrodes arranged on the substrate layer. The sensing electrodes includes a stacked structure of a transparent oxide electrode layer and a metal layer, and has an optical ratio of 5 or less. A structure of high transmittance and low reflectance can be implemented by a control of the optical ratio of the sensing electrodes.

An improved touch sensor comprising a first sensing electrode unit formed on a substrate in a first direction and a second sensing electrode unit formed on the substrate in a second direction crossing the first direction. A plurality of fine etching patterns are formed in boundary portions of unit transparent electrodes included in the first sensing electrode unit and the second sensing electrode unit. Each unit transparent electrode may have a shape in which a portion of a curved line connecting the vertices of a polygon is removed. Adjacent unit transparent electrodes may be electrically connected to one another. The improved touch sensor prevents a transparent electrode from being visible to a user sensor and also results in the prevention of a reduction in light transmittance caused by the transparent electrode as well as the prevention a reduction in optical quality due to a moir&#xe9; phenomenon.

Touch sensor including a first detection electrode portion formed on a substrate in a first direction, and a second detection electrode portion formed on the substrate in a second direction intersecting the first direction, wherein a plurality of fine etched patterns are formed in a boundary portion between unit transparent electrodes included in the first detection electrode portion and the second detection electrode portion, the unit transparent electrode has a shape in which a part of the boundary portion having a polygonal shape is removed by fine etched patterns, and the adjacent unit transparent electrodes are electrically connected. The transparent electrode may be visually hidden due to differences in optical properties between electrode regions wherein the transparent electrode is formed and inter-electrode regions wherein a transparent electrode is not formed, and a phenomenon wherein light transmittance of the touch sensor decreases due to the transparent electrode may also be prevented.

A touch sensor includes a base layer, sensing electrodes arranged on the base layer, a bridge electrode and a connecting portion. The sensing electrode layer includes first sensing electrodes arranged along a first direction parallel to a top surface of the base layer, and second sensing electrodes arranged along a second direction parallel to the top surface of the base layer. The bridge electrode is disposed on the sensing electrodes to electrically connect the first sensing electrodes neighboring in the first direction to each other. The bridge electrode includes an extension portion and expanded portions formed both ends of the extension portion. The expanded portion has a width greater than that of the extension portion. The connecting portion electrically connects the second sensing electrodes neighboring in the second direction and includes at least one etched region.

A touch sensor includes a substrate layer, sensing electrodes on the substrate layer, and optical compensation patterns. The sensing electrodes include electrode lines therein which extend in different directions to cross each other. The sensing electrodes are defined by separation regions at which portions of the electrode lines are cut. The optical compensation patterns are disposed at a different level or a different plane from that of the sensing electrodes. The optical compensation pattern at least partially fills the separation regions in a planar view. Optical properties of the touch sensor are improved by the optical compensation pattern, and visibility of electrodes is prevented.

An improved touch sensor comprising a difference in optical characteristics between an electrode region where the transparent electrode is formed and an inter-electrode region where the transparent electrode is not formed, resulting in the prevention of a transparent electrode from being visible to a user. The improved touch sensor further results in the prevention of a reduction in light transmittance caused by the transparent electrode and the prevention a reduction in optical quality due to a moir&#xe9; phenomenon.
