Systems and methods for monitoring a sensor network are described. The system includes multiple sensors and an upstream device, and the sensors are paired in turn as transmitting and receiving sensors. The sensors collecting signal strength data for each sensor pair corresponding to beacons transmitted and received by the sensors. The upstream device generates an aggregate fingerprint based on the signal strength data, generates a zone fingerprint for each zone based on the aggregate fingerprint, and determines a wireless communication performance of the sensor network based on the zone fingerprints. The aggregate fingerprint includes a signal strength value for each sensor pair. Each zone fingerprint includes the signal strength value for each sensor pair of the corresponding zone. A sensor network configuration is changed for one or more zones based on the wireless communication performance of the sensor network.

System and method for monitoring a sensor network

A system includes diagnostic circuitry and a zone with one or more associated transceiver nodes. A first transceiver node broadcasts one or more beacons which a second transceiver node attempts to receive. The first transceiver node the second transceiver node or both being associated with the zone. The second transceiver node provides a reception indication to the diagnostic circuitry. Based on the reception indication, the diagnostic circuitry may generate a zone-specific radio signal fingerprint and apply the fingerprint to an input of a performance classification routine. Based on the output of the performance classification routine, the diagnostic circuitry may determine whether the zone-specific radio signal fingerprint for the zone has changed relative to one or more previous zone-specific radio signal fingerprints for the zone.

Radio performance fingerprint based sensor management

A system includes a group of transceiver nodes and diagnostic circuitry. A first transceiver node of the group broadcasts one or more beacons which a second transceiver node of the group attempts to receive. The second transceiver node provides a reception indication to the diagnostic circuitry. Based on the reception indication, the diagnostic circuitry determines a radio performance change for the first transceiver node and/or second transceiver node. Using a change threshold based on a distribution of radio performance changes for the group, the diagnostic circuitry may determine whether to generate a change indication for the first transceiver node and/or second transceiver node.

Radio frequency loss based sensor management

There is described a floor selection system for location tracking within a structure. A communication component receives sensor data, associated with a beacon received from a tag, from sensors. A processor identifies features based on the sensor data, identifies decision tree stumps arranged in a particular order, assigns weights to the decision tree stumps based on the features and the feature thresholds. The processor further determines whether an aggregate of the weights is greater than a resultant threshold and selects a floor location of the tag based on whether the aggregate of weights is greater than the resultant threshold. The floor location is selected from floor locations of the structure proximal to the sensors.

There is described a system, method, and medium for managing a group of radio frequency (RF) sensors. The system comprising a first sensor, a second sensor and an upstream device. A sensor management system comprises a first sensor, a second sensor, and an upstream device. The first sensor is positioned at a first location and transmits a wireless signal. The second sensor is positioned at a second location and detects the wireless signal. The first and second locations of the first and second sensors correspond to an expected wireless signal of the first sensor. The upstream device performs an action in response to determining that a difference between the detected wireless signal and the expected wireless signal exceeds a predetermined threshold.

System and method for managing sensors

There is described a motion detection system of a building automation system comprising a motion sensing component and a processor. The motion sensing component is configured to generate a raw signal. The processor is configured to establish first-order difference signals based on the raw signal. The processor is also configured to identify in-band energy in a motion portion of a sensor frequency range based on the first-order difference signals and identify total energy in the sensor frequency range based on the first-order difference signals. In addition, the processor is configured to determine a ratio of the in-band energy and the total energy and generate a motion status update in response to determining that the ratio meets or exceeds a predetermined ratio threshold.

Motion detection system and method of a building automation system

A method and system for compensating for motion blur in optical navigation adds a correction offset to an image navigation value to adjust for varying velocities along a moving web. Reference and comparison images are acquired at different times from a moving web. An optical navigation value is computed representative of the movement of the web from the reference image to the comparison image. Blur distances for the two images can be calculated. A navigation error correction value is computed as one-half the difference between the reference blur distance and the comparison blur distance. A compensated navigation value is computed by adding the error correction value to the computed navigation value to compensate for varying web velocities.

A first application of ink is applied onto the print media area by a printing assembly at the first time. The reference image and the comparison image are processed to determine a relative displacement of a feature pattern on the print media between approximately the first time and the second time. A second application of ink from the printing assembly onto the print media is adjusted based on the determination.

A contact lithography apparatus, system and method use a hydraulic deformation to facilitate pattern transfer. The apparatus, system and method include a spacer that provides a spaced apart proximal orientation of lithographic elements, and a hydraulic force member that provides the hydraulic deformation. One or more of the lithographic elements and the spacer is deformable, such that hydraulic deformation thereof facilitates the pattern transfer.

Determining a dimensional change in a surface of an object is described. At a first time, a first image of the surface is acquired at a first spatial window thereon having a first known position relative to a frame of reference. At a second time, a second image of the surface is acquired at a second spatial window thereon having a second known position relative to the frame of reference. The first image and the second image are processed according to an image displacement sensing algorithm to determine a relative translation of a first point on the surface between the first and second times. The relative translation of the first point, the first known position, and the second known position are used to determine the dimensional change in the surface between the first and second times.

A system including a data acquisition system and a processing system is provided. Using an imaging system in relation to a plurality of material layers is described, the material layers being separated by a distance greater than a depth of field of the imaging system. A focal plane of the imaging system and a first of the plurality of material layers are brought into correspondence. A first image including at least a portion of the first material layer having a first feature of interest thereon is stored. The focal plane of the imaging system and a second of the plurality of material layers are brought into correspondence. A second image including at least a portion of the second material layer having a second feature of interest thereon is acquired. The first and second images are processed for automatic computation of an alignment measurement between the first and second features of interest.
