The aim is to improve the bending resistance a display device. The display device in one embodiment includes a substrate including a first surface and a second surface and a curved part between the first surface and the second surface, a display element arranged on the first surface, a conducting layer connected with the display element and extending to the second surface from the first surface via the curved part, a plurality of protective layers having a lower ductility than the substrate and arranged in the substrate side and/or opposite side to the substrate side with respect to the conducting layer and along the curved part, wherein each of the plurality of protective layers spreading over the curved part, to a certain region of the first surface side from the curved part, and to a certain region of the second side from the curved part.

Liquid crystal display device and manufacturing method for same

A display device includes a first organic layer, a first inorganic layer, a second organic layer, a second inorganic layer, and a thin film transistor. The first organic layer has a roughened top surface. The first inorganic layer has a roughened top surface and is disposed to have a roughened bottom surface that is in contact with the roughened top surface of the first organic layer. The second organic layer has a roughened bottom surface that is in contact with the roughened top surface of the first inorganic layer. A cut which penetrates a resin layer is formed in the resin layer such that the cut surrounds a third upper surface. A film is formed such that the film covers the whole resin layer except for a bottom surface of the resin layer inside the cut and at least a portion of the resin layer is exposed outside the cut. The resin layer which is wholly covered with the film is left inside the cut, and the whole resin layer continuously formed with a surface exposed from the film is removed outside the cut. A bump is formed by the resin layer and the film inside the cut, and a shutter and at least a portion of a drive part are formed by the film outside the cut in a state where these parts are floated from a first substrate.

Provided is a display device, including: a sealing member including an opening and surrounding a space defined by a pair of light transmissive substrates; an end seal for closing the opening of the sealing member to form an encapsulation space; oil filled in the encapsulation space; a spacer for maintaining an interval between the pair of light transmissive substrates; a shutter; a drive portion arranged in the oil, for mechanically driving the shutter; and a wall portion formed on at least one of opposed surfaces of the pair of light transmissive substrates. The wall portion includes a part arranged at a position interrupting a shortest path between the opening of the sealing member and a display region. The wall portion is made of a material forming the spacer, the shutter, and the drive portion.
