A method for determining the empty state of an IV bottle is provided in an IV infusion monitoring device or in a networking monitoring system, which is cable to monitor the infusion data during whole infusion process. The infusion data includes the weight of remaining medical liquid in the IV bottle, the infusion rate and the remaining time from completion as well as the empty state. It also gives alarm as the measured gross weight of the IV bottle drops to the empty state. The empty state is determined preferably in terms of necking effect and needle tip effect, or their combination.

Method for determining the empty state of an IV bottle in an IV infusion monitoring device

A plurality of magnetic extraction bumps are incorporated into a cyclotron that further includes (a) a pair of magnetic coils encircling a central axis and positioned on opposite sides of a median acceleration plane and (b) a magnetic yoke encircling the central axis and including a return yoke that crosses the median acceleration plane and a first and second pole on opposite sides of the median acceleration plane. The magnetic extraction bumps extend in series radially from the central axis on opposite sides of the median acceleration plane and can be used to extract an orbiting accelerated ion from the cyclotron.

Compensated precessional beam extraction for cyclotrons

A security system provides accurate positioning, in a two or three dimensional coordinate system, of an alarm signal transmitter which emits an alarm signal upon activation by a user. The security system includes at least three relay stations, at least one portable signal transmitter, and a central station. The alarm signal from the signal transmitter is received by the relay stations at different time intervals or with different intensities. The time or intensity data are then sent to the central station for processing, wherein the coordinates of the signal transmitter are quickly determined by solving a set of equations based on these data. The accuracy of the coordinates of the signal transmitter depends on accuracy of the measured time or intensity data.
