Embodiments of the present application provide communication methods and systems. One method comprises receiving, from a first access network device, signaling destined for a terminal device, wherein the terminal device is in a radio resource control (RRC) inactive mode. A first paging message is sent to a second access network device for paging the terminal device and first indication information is received indicating that the terminal device is connected to a second access network device. After receiving the signaling destined for the terminal device, the first access network device can learn the terminal device has connected to the second access network device, and therefore performs proper subsequent processing.

Communication method between core network device and terminal in communication system

A terminal receives configuration information from a first access network device. The configuration information includes a paging area information that indicates a paging area for the terminal in a first mode. In the first mode, the terminal sends a first message to a second access network device when the terminal is in a cell that does not belong to the paging area. The first message includes a paging area update indication. The terminal then receives a connection establishment indication from the second access network device, and establishes a connection between the terminal and the second access network device. The terminal sends a second message to a core network device using the established connection between the terminal and the second access network device, the core network device releases a connection between the first access network device and the core network device established for the terminal in response to the second message.

A communication method provided in embodiments of this application is a method for establishing an RRC connection between a terminal and a RAN, and the establishment of the RRC connection includes first RRC connection establishment and second RRC connection establishment. The first RRC connection establishment is a wireless RRC connection between the terminal and a first RAN network element, and the second RRC connection establishment is a wireless or wired RRC connection between the first RAN network element and a second RAN network element.

Communication method, apparatus, and system

The present disclosure relates to information sending methods, and first access network devices and systems. One example system includes a first access network device and a core network device, and a connection for a terminal exists between the first access network device and the core network device. One example method includes determining that context information of the terminal is to be obtained, obtaining the context information of the terminal from the core network device. When determining that the context information of the terminal is to be obtained, the first access network device requests the context information from the core network device without storing the context information in advance.

A state machine records that a current state of the terminal device is an incoming call state, an outgoing call state, or an idle state. When the terminal device is in the idle state, that the terminal device processes an incoming call or an outgoing call is determined according to occupation of the state machine by incoming call information or by outgoing call information, and a state of the state machine after the state machine is occupied by the incoming call or the outgoing call is protected by using a mutex lock.

The present disclosure discloses a method for multi-homing path selection of a stream control transmission protocol (SCTP). The method includes the following steps of: starting quality evaluation of paths; calculating a quality evaluation value of each path; comparing the quality evaluation value of each path; and selecting a path with the highest quality evaluation value to transmit a data message. The present disclosure also discloses an apparatus for multi-homing path selection of an SCTP. By adopting the method and the apparatus, a network selects the path with the highest quality evaluation value to transmit a data message. As long as path faults affect the transmission efficiency, other path with better quality is selected for transmission, thus the capability of the network of dealing with all kinds of path faults can be improved, and the data transmission speed and quality are further improved.
