Organic electroluminescent materials and devices

The present invention relates to a photochromic compound having a core fused ring structure represented by at least one of the following Formula (Ia) or Formula (IIa), (Ia) (IIa) Independently for each of Formula (Ia) and Formula (IIa): Ris in each case independently selected from substituted or unsubstituted aryl, substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl, —SOR, or —C(O)—XR, where, X is selected from a single bond, —N(R)—, or —O—, and Rin each case is independently selected from hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted aryl, or substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl; and B and B' are each independently selected from substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl, substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl, substituted or unsubstituted aryl, or substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl. The present invention also relates to photochromic compositions and articles including such photochromic compounds.

Organic light emitting materials and devices comprising phosphorescent metal complexes comprising ligands comprising aryl or heteroaryl groups substituted at both ortho positions are described. An organic light emitting device, comprising: an anode, a hole transport layer; an organic emissive layer comprising an emissive layer host and an emissive dopant; an electron impeding layer, and electron transport layer, and a cathode disposed, in that order, over a substrate.

Novel organometallic complexes having a structure of Formula (I) that are useful in organic light emitting devices are disclosed.

Imidazophenanthridine ligands and metal complexes are provided. The compounds exhibit improved stability through a linking substitution that links a nitrogen bonded carbon of an imidizole ring to a carbon on the adjacent fused aryl ring. The compounds may be used in OLEDs, particularly as emissive dopants in the emissive region in the OLEDs, providing devices with improved efficiency, stability, and manufacturing. In particular, the compounds provided herein may be used in blue devices having high efficiency.

The present invention relates to a primer coating composition that includes, (a) a (meth)acrylic polymer that includes hydroxyl groups, and which has a Tg of at least 30&#xb0; C. The primer coating composition further includes, (b) a polyester that includes hydroxyl groups, and which has a weight average molecular weight of less than 3000, and a hydroxyl value of at least 100. The primer coating composition also includes, (c) a crosslinking agent having at least two isocyanate groups. The present invention also relates to a coated article that includes a repaired area that includes a primer coating formed from the primer coating composition of the present invention. The primer coating compositions, in accordance with some embodiments, provide reduced or minimal ringing defects.

Photochromic thienochromene compounds

An organic light emitting device (OLED) is provided. The OLED has an anode, a cathode, and an emission layer, disposed between the anode and the cathode, including a first emitting compound; wherein the first emitting compound is capable of functioning as a blue phosphorescent emitter in the OLED at room temperature; wherein the first emitting compound has PLQY of less than 90% at room temperature; wherein the OLED has an external quantum efficiency of between 8% and 20% at 1 mA/cm.
