A display device includes: a display which includes a display screen on which a video is displayed; a decorative sheet disposed on a display screen side of the display, is larger than the display screen in a front view of the display screen, and covers the display screen, the decorative sheet including a first region which overlaps with the display screen in the front view and a second region which does not overlap with the display screen in the front view; and a controller which controls a luminance of the video that is displayed by the display, based on (i) an illuminance of ambient light around the display and the decorative sheet and (ii) first information indicating a relationship between the illuminance and appearances of a third region corresponding to a black display region of the video in the first region and the second region on the decorative sheet.

Display device and control method

An image display device includes a display panel which displays an image, a back cover disposed along the back surface of the display panel, a circuit substrate which is disposed on the back surface of the back cover and which is for driving the display of the image on the display panel, and a FPC which connects the circuit substrate and the display panel. The back cover has a recess recessed inward from the edge of the back cover in a plan view. The FPC is disposed so as to pass through the recess.

Image display device

An image display device according to the present disclosure includes: a display panel; a frame unit; and a driver. The display panel is switchable between an image display mode in which an image is displayed and a transmissive mode in which the display panel is in a transmissive state where an object behind the display panel is visible in a front view of the display panel. The frame unit includes an upper plate disposed along an upper edge of the display panel and protruding rearward. The driver includes a circuit unit which drives the display panel. The driver is supported by the upper plate on a bottom side of the upper plate.

An image display device according to the present embodiment includes: a display panel; a power line; and an outer frame. The display panel is switchable between an image display mode in which an image is displayed and a transmissive mode in which the display panel is in a transmissive state where an object behind the display panel is visible in a front view of the display panel. The power line is disposed along a periphery of the display panel. The outer frame is disposed along an edge of the display panel, and includes a first housing space for housing the power line and a second housing space for housing the edge of the display panel.

Image display device and furniture including the image display device

An image display device includes: an image display unit which includes a display panel switchable between an image display mode in which an image is displayed and a transmissive mode in which the display panel is in a transmissive state where an object behind the image display unit is visible in a front view of the display panel; a controller which controls an operation of the display panel; and a lower shelf board which is a holding member. The lower shelf board is disposed projecting rearward from a rear surface of the image display unit and holds the controller in a housed state.

An image display device includes an image display unit including a display panel, a shelf board, and an illumination unit. The display panel is switchable between an image display mode in which an image is displayed and a transmissive mode in which the display panel is in a transmissive state where objects behind image display unit is visible in a front view of the display panel. The shelf board is disposed projecting rearward from the rear surface of image display unit, and extends in the lateral direction. A planar member for a shadow mask is provided, which is hard to generate wrinkles in or break when being pulled at four sides to apply a tension to a beam-selecting area with beam-passing apertures. The planar member comprises the beam-selecting area, a first band frame portion surrounding the beam-selecting area, a second band frame portion disposed around and spaced from the first band frame, a plurality of bridge portions bridging the first and second band frame portions at plural points, and a plurality of outer areas with plural apertures, defined by the first and second band frame portions and two bridge portions. The connecting part of the bridge portion with the second band frame portion is reinforced in such a way that the width of the bridge portion increases gradually to connect with the second band frame portion.

Planar member for shadow mask of cathode-ray tube and manufacturing

In a color cathode ray tube apparatus, a shadow mask is fixed on a frame with a predetermined tension for cancelling a thermal expansion of the shadow mask during normal operation of the color cathode ray tube apparatus. The mechanical strength of the longer sides on the frame is higher than that of the shorter sides of the frame by fixing reinforcing plates or ribs on the longer sides in order that the tension of the shadow mask not become uneven.
