A moving body control device includes an outside recognition unit configured to acquire recognition data of an outside of a moving body, a reception unit which receives designation of a predetermined parking position from a user of the moving body, and a control unit configured to perform automatic parking control for parking the moving body at the predetermined parking position based on the recognition data of the outside and the predetermined parking position, and register the predetermined parking position as a designated parking position. The control unit is configured to register feature points related to the designated parking position by using a plurality of patterns based on illuminance of the outside calculated from the recognition data of the outside.

A saddle-type vehicle includes a power unit including a multistage transmission having a plurality of gear positions, a transmission actuating mechanism for changing the gear positions, a shift spindle as an input shaft of the transmission actuating mechanism, a crankcase housing therein the multistage transmission and the transmission actuating mechanism, and a crankcase cover covering a side portion of the crankcase. The shift spindle is disposed in the periphery of the crankcase cover and is coupled to a shift actuator mounted on the crankcase cover by a joint rod. Such saddle-type vehicle having a power unit with a shift spindle movable by a shift actuator, in which the shift spindle and the shift actuator are combined with each other in a small-size layout with a joint rod joining the shift spindle and the shift actuator to each other, allows the joint rod to be installed in position with ease.

A shift drum angle detecting device includes: a first angle sensor configured to output a first sensor output value corresponding to a shaft rotational angle of a first sensor shaft integrally rotating with a shift drum; and a second angle sensor configured to output a second sensor output value corresponding to a shaft rotational angle of a second sensor shaft rotating at an increased speed as a result of a speed increasing mechanism increasing the rotation of the first sensor shaft. A first sensor switching angle where the maximum value and the minimum value of the first sensor output value are switched and a second sensor switching angle where the maximum value and the minimum value of the second sensor output value are switched are set to be different from each other in rotational angle of the shift drum. Such device precisely detects any rotational angle of the shift drum.

Shift drum angle detecting device for transmission

The transmission includes a rotation shaft, a shift gear, and a gear switching part. The shift gear is rotatably supported by the rotation shaft. The gear switching part is relatively unrotatably supported by the rotation shaft in a movable manner in an axial direction. The gear switching part is configured to be moved in the axial direction by a shift fork, to switch connection and disconnection between the rotation shaft and the shift gear. The gear switching part and the shift fork have a bearing therebetween. The bearing is brought into contact with the gear switching part and the shift fork, thereby reducing friction between the gear switching part and the shift fork, resulting in improvement of durability of the sliding surfaces of the gear switching part and the shift fork.

As viewed from a side, an output shaft is disposed rearward of a crankshaft, and an odd-numbered stage shaft and an even-numbered stage shaft are disposed rearward of the crankshaft. Moreover, the odd-numbered stage shaft is provided on a side opposite to the even-numbered stage shaft relative to a line connecting the crankshaft and the output shaft, and a shift drum is disposed on a side opposite to the output shaft relative to a line connecting the odd-numbered stage shaft and the even-numbered stage shaft. This structure reduces dimensions of the power unit for the saddled vehicle.

In a speed change apparatus for a vehicle, a controller stores as a clutch-disengaging shift spindle angle &#x3b8;a position at which a clutch is disengaged when a shift spindle is rotated in a first direction. The controller controls the shift spindle by a first step Wof rotating the shift spindle in the first direction until a disengaging-side target angle Tais reached; a second step Wof returning the shift spindle in a second direction opposite to the first direction; and a third step Wof rotating the shift spindle in the first direction up to the clutch-disengaging shift spindle angle &#x3b8;and thereafter rotating the shift spindle in the second direction to return the shift spindle, upon detection of an output from a drum angle sensor, the output corresponding to shallow engagement of dog teeth.

Speed change apparatus for vehicle

A cylindrical shift drum is rotatable around a third rotational axis. The cylindrical shift drum includes at least one lead groove in an outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical shift drum. A shift fork shaft extending in parallel to the third rotational axis is disposed opposite to the outer circumferential surface. At least one shift fork includes a main portion slidably supported by the shift fork shaft and a pin portion rotatably supported by the main body portion. In a multiple plate clutch having a main spring which is provided between a clutch center fixed in an axial direction and a pressure plate displaceable in the axial direction and presses plural clutch plates in a clutch engagement direction, and a lifter plate for lifting the pressure plate in a clutch release direction, a sub spring for urging the pressure plate in the clutch engagement direction through the lifter plate is provided between the clutch center and the lifter plate, and the lifter plate is lifted by a predetermined amount or more to cut off the urging force of the sub spring to the pressure plate.

A transmission apparatus for a vehicle includes a shift spindle having a clutch actuator, and also includes a shift actuator adapted to operate a shift drum. A speed change apparatus includes a transmission, a change mechanism configured to move a gear or gears so as to change gear position, a force accumulation mechanism which includes a shift spindle and a force accumulation spring. The shift spindle is provided, in a rotatable manner, with a master arm configured to operate the change mechanism. A return spring is configured to bias the master arm toward a neutral position. A sub return spring, separate from the return spring and which directly biases the shift spindle toward the neutral position, is provided between the shift spindle and a case member.

An accumulation mechanism is capable of accumulating the rotational force transmitted from the shift spindle to the master arm. The master arm and the clutch lever are interlocked with each other. A delay mechanism is provided that delays the clutch disconnection operation with the clutch lever before accumulation is completed between the shift spindle and the clutch.
