In one or more embodiments, techniques and systems for multipath error correction are provided herein. A global positioning system (GPS) component or unit determines a position of a vehicle at different times. When the vehicle enters a tunnel, for example, the GPS unit may not provide accurate readings. In this scenario, an image capture component or lane keeping assist system can monitor for a change of lane associated with the vehicle. An error correction component can calculate an updated position for the vehicle by using the change of lane information to confirm or correct the GPS position of the vehicle, such as when the vehicle is exiting the tunnel.

Multipath error correction

A system and method for recalling and utilizing location data are presented. A connection between a device and a vehicle is detected. After the connection is detected, a first set of data stored on the device is identified. The first set of data includes a last known location of the vehicle. A current value of a vehicle sensor is compared to a historical value of the vehicle sensor. The historical value was captured from the vehicle sensor at about a time the first set of data was stored on the device. When the current value of the vehicle sensor is the same as the historical value of the vehicle sensor, the first set of data is used to define a current location of the vehicle.

System and method for storing and recalling location data

A method and system for lane recognition including determining availability of vehicle position data obtained from more than one source including a GPS device source and an imaging device source. The method includes modifying a lane error threshold based on the availability of the vehicle position data. The lane error threshold is a lateral distance from a centerline of a lane.
