A fixing device includes: a belt member having a substantially loop shape and an outer circumferential surface and moving along a belt moving path; a downstream side pressing member pressed against the outer circumferential surface and pressing a recording material transported along a recording material transporting path; and an upstream side pressing member disposed on an upstream side of the downstream side pressing member, pressed against the outer circumferential surface, and pressing the recording material, wherein in a contact portion where the outer circumferential surface and the downstream side pressing member are in contact, the belt moving path and the recording material transporting path are curved toward an inner side in a radial direction of the belt member, and wherein on an upstream side of the contact portion, the belt moving path and the recording material transporting path are curved toward a side opposite to the inner side.

Fixing device and image forming apparatus having a curved belt moving path and a curved recording material transporting path

There is provided a fixing device. An endless fixing belt has an inner circumferential surface to which lubricant is applied and that is rotated. A first plate-shaped body is disposed along the inner circumferential surface and is in contact with the inner circumferential surface. A second plate-shaped body is disposed along the first plate-shaped body at a distance to cause a capillary phenomenon in the lubricant. A bent portion is provided in an end portion of the second plate-shaped body in a rotating direction of the fixing belt and is bent on an inner circumferential surface side on a downstream side of an end portion of the first plate-shaped body in the rotating direction of the fixing belt.

Fixing device and image forming apparatus

A fixing device includes a belt member that moves in a circulating manner, a pressure member that is disposed to be in contact with an outer circumferential surface of the belt member, and pressurizes a recording material on which an image is formed, and a heating member. The heating member includes a curved portion that is curved along an inner circumferential surface of the belt member and is in contact with the inner circumferential surface, a bent portion that is bent from an upstream side end portion of the curved portion in a moving direction of the belt member and is separated from the inner circumferential surface, and a heat generation portion that is provided in the curved portion and heats the belt member. A generated heat amount in the curved portion on the upstream side is larger than that in the curved portion on a downstream side.

Fixing device, heating member, and image forming apparatus

A fixing device includes a belt member that moves circularly and has an inner peripheral surface to which an oil is applied, a pressure member that is disposed in such a manner as to be in contact with an outer peripheral surface of the belt member and that applies pressure to a recording material on which an image has been formed, a heating member that is disposed in such a manner as to be in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the belt member and that heats the belt member, the heating member having an upstream side end portion that is located on an upstream side in a rotation direction of the belt member and separated from the inner peripheral surface.

A heating device includes a belt member that is rotated, plural heating elements that are arranged in a width direction of the belt member and generate heat so as to heat the belt member, plural resistance elements that have positive temperature coefficients and are connected to the plural heating elements such that each of the plural resistance elements is connected in series with a corresponding one of the plural heating elements, and a base material that includes a heat-conductive metal layer and a pair of heat-resistant metal layers between which the heat-conductive metal layer is interposed and has a surface on which the plural heating elements and the plural resistance elements are disposed. A temperature of the belt member is reduced by an increase in resistances of the plural resistance elements caused by an increase in temperatures of the plural resistance elements.
