An electronic microscope has an electronic image sensor for generating primary image data sets, wherein the image sensor is configured to generate image signals that correspond to a plurality of different reception spectra, and wherein each primary image data respectively comprises at least one image signal of each of the plurality of reception spectra for a plurality of image zones. A control device of the microscope is configured to control an illumination device to make a cyclically repeating transmission of electromagnetic radiation having a plurality of different illumination spectra and to control the image sensor to generate a respective primary image data set for each of the plurality of different illumination spectra. A processing unit of the microscope is configured to calculate the reflection spectrum from the generated primary image data sets for at least some of the plurality of image zones and, starting from the primary image data sets generated for the plurality of different illumination spectra, to determine at least one secondary image data set in dependence on the calculated reflection spectrum, said secondary image data set being at least partly modified with respect to the primary image data sets.

A camera viewfinder comprises an electronic display apparatus that is configured for the display of images that are recorded by an image sensor of an electronic camera. The camera viewfinder further comprises two mirrors for reflecting the images displayed by the display apparatus, of which at least one mirror is a free-form surface mirror whose reflective surface is formed as a free-form surface that does not have any continuous translation symmetry or rotational symmetry. At least one of the free-form surface mirrors is adjustable to at least partially compensate a vision defect of a user.

Camera viewfinder

A camera system includes a camera unit for capturing still or moving images of an object. The camera unit is adjustable in respect of at least one parameter relevant to the capture of the images based on a measurement signal. A measuring unit captures a distance between the object and the camera unit and includes a laser transceiver for emitting a laser signal and receiving a laser signal reflected by the object. An evaluation unit coupled to the laser transceiver provides the measurement signal. The measurement signal indicates the distance between the object and the camera unit. A lens system has at least two spaced apart lenses. The laser signal emitted by the laser transceiver passes through the lens system. At least one of the lenses is arranged in movable fashion such that the distance between the lenses is variably adjustable parallel to the laser signal transmission direction.

A surface light guide includes a radiation exit area running along a main extension plane of the surface light guide and includes a light guiding region, which has scattering locations and a coating arranged on a first main area of the light guiding region, wherein radiation coupled in along the main extension plane impinging on the first main area after scattering at the scattering locations has an excessively increased radiation component and the coating reduces in a targeted manner an exit of the excessively increased radiation component from the radiation exit area.

Surface light guide and planar emitter

This invention relates to a method of designing an illumination device, wherein a light source unit is modeled with a set of rays. Therein, each ray is assigned a light power and is further characterized by a light volume, which specifies how 'spread out' the light is in area and angle. In this way, a selection of rays with respect to their 'density' becomes possible, and an optical system can be optimized for a transmission of those rays providing the most light per volume.

Method of modeling an illumination device

Device for generating polarized electromagnetic radiation has a diffuser and a polarizer. The diffuser is arranged in a beam path of the electromagnetic radiation. The polarizer is arranged in the beam path of the electromagnetic radiation, to be precise downstream of the diffuser in the direction of propagation of the electromagnetic radiation. The polarizer has a reflective side facing the diffuser, said reflective side being at least partly reflective to the electromagnetic radiation. The polarizer transmits electromagnetic radiation having a predefined polarization and reflects electromagnetic radiation not having the predefined polarization back to the diffuser. The diffuser scatters, in a non-polarization-maintaining manner, at least one portion of the reflected-back electromagnetic radiation not having the predefined polarization.

In at least one embodiment of the surface light guide, the surface light guide includes at least one scattering element for scattering light. A decoupling coefficient is caused by the scattering element. The decoupling coefficient is set in a varying fashion along a main light-guiding direction. In a direction perpendicular to the main sides of the surface light guide, the opacity value is no more than 0.10, the transmission coefficient is at least 0.75 and the quotient of the minimum light density and maximum light density seen over a continuous emitting area of at least one of the main sides is at least 0.75.

A surface light guide has a radiation exit area extending along a main extension plane of the surface light guide and is provided for laterally coupling radiation. The surface light guide includes scattering locations for scattering the coupled radiation.
