A mounting is disclosed for the movable member of a window or door in a fixed frame which comprises four set-off arms connected to corners of the movable member. Each set-off arm is pivoted and slidably mounted to the movable member at one end thereof and pivotally mounted to the frame in an opposite end thereof. An auxiliary arm is pivotally mounted to the set-off arm at an intermediate location thereon and also to the movable member. The set-off arms take up opposite mirror image inclined positions with the movable member in its closed and opened position respectively. The upper set-off arms are mirror images of the lower set-off arms about a plane perpendicular to the plane of the movable member with the pivotal and sliding engagement between upper and lower set-off arms being closer to each other than the pivotal engagement between those set-off arms and their associated auxiliary arms.

Window and door mounting

A control device is disclosed for selectively displacing two drive rod drivers which are coupled to drive rods of a window or door. The device includes a housing having a guide path defined therein for slidably receiving two drivers. The handle includes a turning member which is directly engaged with one driver and the device includes a clutch which is selectively engageable or disengageable between the two drivers so that, with rotation of the handle member, either both or one of the drivers may be moved along the guide path in the housing.

Control mechanism for a window or door

To avoid or at least substantially reduce heat losses occurring with conventional registers ventilation, a register is disclosed which is assembled of two basic bodies supporting each a shutter and connected to each other through a thermally insulating layer. Preferably, the thermally insulating layer comprises insulating sectional strips and it is satisfactory to provide such strips only along the upper and lower longitudinal edges of the two basic bodies. The two shutters are coupled to each other so that they can be shifted conjointly from their closing to their open position and vice versa by means of a single drive mechanism.

Ventilation register

A ventilating device for mounting on a wall or support frame which has an air flow passage therethrough comprises a housing of generally rectangular or block shaped form. The housing has a back wall which is mounted on brackets secured to the mounting wall and which includes an air inlet aligned with the air passage defined through the mounting wall. An insulation layer is secured to the top and bottom walls of the housing and to the cover. When the cover is closed the cover layer insulation fits between the top and bottom layers and the three layers define a tortuous or meandering flow path for the air from the inlet to the outlet which is defined at the front end of the housing opposite to the rear wall. The outlet is closed by the cover which has an adjustable register and the apparatus advantageously includes a fan arranged to draw air in through the inlet and circulate it through the tortuous path between the insulations to the outlet for flow out through the register.
