A laminated louver (10) is disclosed comprised of a cover (31), adhesive (32) and main body (12). The louver (11) is first extruded (112) with flanges (16) and passed through pressure rollers (117) along with the covering material (31) wherein the flanges (16) capture the covering material (31).

A safety device (10) for use with vertically projecting pull cords (13, 14, 15, 16) for a window covering is disclosed. The device (10) is interconnected to a headrail assembly (11) and has a plurality of telescoping sections (30, 40, 50) with differing diameters (D30, D40, D50) that house the cords (13, 14, 15, 16) and is movable between a first retracted position and a second extended position with means (60, 19) (160, 170) for receiving and retaining the pull cord.

Safety device for pull cords of window coverings

A modular valance assembly (10) is disclosed that is both easy to assemble and to disassemble. The assembly (10) includes a front valance member (20b) interconnected at each side (21) to a side valance member (20a) by a corner member (40) disposed therebetween. The valance members (20) include, near their top edge (23), a rearwardly-extending mounting flange (27) with a projecting rib (31) and, adjacent their bottom edge (24), a frontwardly-extending cantilevered portion (32). The corner member (40) includes means for connecting (43,44) the top part of each valance member (20) and means for being connected (55) to the bottom part of the each valance member (20). The corner member (40) is arcuate (41) so as to hold the interconnected valance members (20) at right angles to one another. Second (140) and third embodiments (240) of the corner members that are not arcuate are also disclosed for interconnecting, in perpendicular relation, a front valance member (20) with a mounting flange (27) to a side valance member (120) without such a flange.

A clip assembly (20,100) for use in combination with a blind assembly having a plurality of free-hanging elongated vertical louvers (10) for preventing the louvers from tangling is disclosed. The clip assembly comprises a plurality of clips (20) spaced apart and attached to a cord (100). Each clip (20) is attached to a portion of a louver (10) adjacent a side edge (12).

A valance support bracket for mounting on the headrail of a venetian blind to enable mounting of a valance. The headrail has a pair of laterally spaced coplanar mounting flanges extending longitudinally along its upper surface. The valance support bracket includes a mounting plate from which depends a pair of locking arms adapted to be inserted downwardly between the mounting flanges on the headrail when the valance support bracket is disposed in a first orientation, the locking arms being further adapted for cooperative relation with the mounting flanges so as to cause the valance support bracket to undergo a snap-action movement as it is moved to a second orientation substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the headrail wherein the locking arms effect locking relation with the headrail.

A venetian blind of the vertical louver type includes an elongated guide track and a plurality of louver carriers supported by the guide track for traverse between open blind and closed blind conditions. Each of the louver carriers supports a louver in generally vertical orientation for traverse with the carrier and for rotation about its longitudinal axis between open and closed louver positions. A louver operating mechanism is supported on one end of the guide track and is operative to rotate the louvers to open louver positions prior to traverse along the guide track from a closed blind condition to an open blind condition. A rotation rod extends longitudinally of the guide track in cooperative relation with the louver carriers and supports a rotation pulley actuated by a beaded chain to rotate the rotation rod and effect rotation of the louvers. A pullcord is operative to traverse the louvers along the guide track and cooperates with a spool member which is connected to the rotation pulley through a clutch arrangement such that actuation of the pullcord to traverse the louvers to an open blind condition first rotates the louvers to open louver positions. The clutch arrangement enables rotation of the rotation pulley so as to selectively rotate the louvers without actuating the spool member.

A valance assembly is disclosed which allows the hook-in assembly of a valance support onto the head rail, and the snap-in mounting of the valance on the valance support. The valance support in one embodiment has the cross-section of an I-beam for strength with a minimum of material and in another embodiment provides for two parallel offset valances to provide a vehicle for contrasting colors over the blinds and head rail.

A venetian blind of the vertical louver type includes an elongated guide track and a plurality of louver carriers supported by the guide track for traverse between open blind and closed blind conditions, each of the louver carriers supporting a louver in generally vertical orientation for traverse with the carrier and for rotation about its longitudinal axis between open and closed louver positions. A louver control mechanism is supported on one end of the guide track and is operative to rotate the louvers to open louver positions prior to traverse along the guide track from a closed blind condition to an open blind condition. In the disclosed embodiment, a rotation rod extends longitudinally of the guide track in cooperative relation with the louver carriers and supports a spool which is actuated by a beaded chain to rotate the rotation rod and effect rotation of the louvers. A pullcord is operative to traverse the louvers along the guide track and is cooperative with the spool such that actuation of the pullcord to effect traverse of the louvers to an open blind condition first rotates the louvers to open louver positions.

An interlocking jack stand has right and left sides of complementary configuration, each supplying two legs of a four-legged stand. Each side is of a sheet material with a semi-circular corner portion merging with legs in right angular relationship and tapered in breadth so as to be wide at the bottom and narrow at the top. The material of one side has slots extending up from the bottom and material of the other side has slots extending down from the top. Slots are respectively at the junction of the semi-circular corner with the legs for one side and part way around the semi-circular corner of the other side so that when the sides are slid together in interlocked relation there is a circular hollow central column partially of double wall thickness in which a vertically adjustable screw support is mounted.

A unitary multiple purpose oil block for use with and in cooperation in a lifting jack features a rigid block anchored between a pair of side plates comprising a frame adjacent one end. On various faces of the block holes are drilled for mounting the operating mechanisms, namely a hydraulic power cylinder, a pump, a lift-lower control valve and an overload release. Extensions of the holes are drilled to form passages of the hydraulic network with all passages in respective right angular relationship communicating with each other within a central partition between a pair of oil reservoir chambers. The operating mechanisms are separately mounted for purposes of economy of weight, simplicity, easy access and servicing.

An interlocking jack stand has right and left sides of complementary configuration, each supplying two legs of a four-legged stand. Each side is a sheet bent at a right angle with legs tapered in breadth so as to be wide at the bottom and narrow at the top. Legs of one side have slots extending up from the bottom and legs of the other side have slots extending down from the top. The slots are spaced from the corner so that when the sides are slid together in interlocked relation there is a hollow central column in which a vertical adjustable screw support is mounted.

A lifting jack with its elevating linkage has an elongated base supported on wheels and a hydraulic ram horizontally disposed in the base. A block which is a structural part of the base incorporates a hydraulic reservoir, a pump, valving, and a lift-lower control. A single handle serves both to actuate the pump and manipulate the lift-lower control. An overload release valve which can be factory-adjusted to limit the load which the jack can lift is interiorly mounted and combined with the lift-lower control to inhibit tampering which could inadvertently overload the jack.
