An integrated tool processing system and a wellsite monitoring system for a wellsite. The integrated tool processing system includes a tool assembler, a tool lift, and a tool transporter. The tool assembler includes a tool conveyor and a gun builder. The tool lift is connected by a tool stager to the tool assembler. The tool lift includes a lift base to receive the downhole tool and a lift arm to lift the downhole tool. The tool transporter includes a vehicle and a boom for connection to the downhole tool. The vehicle and the boom carry the downhole tool into position for delivery at the wellsite. The wellsite monitoring system includes wellsite sensors to collect wellsite data, wellsite monitors to receive and analyze the wellsite data, and a central station to collect and further analyze the wellsite data and to operate the tool processing system based on the combined wellsite data.

Integrated wellsite processing system and wellsite monitoring system and method of using same

A compression device, useful for applying circumferential compression to an object, for example, as a tourniquet to occlude blood flow in a hemorrhaging extremity, is provided. The device includes a buckle assembly, first and second guidance slides, a connecting member between the first and second guidance slides, and a strap. Each end of the strap is anchored to a guidance slide. From each of the anchored ends, the strap passes through the buckle assembly, forming outer segments. The strap then returns along respective insides of the outer segments and through the guidance slides, forming inner segments. The buckle assembly, inner segments and connecting member form a loop for placing about an object, an inner circumference of the loop being adjustable by pulling on a portion of the strap located along the outside of the connecting member and between the two guidance slides to tighten the loop around the object.

Compression device

A system and method of injection well identification using tracer particles is disclosed. A collector-reader for analyzing magnetic particles in a fluid that is moving with respect to the collector-reader includes an array of magnets whose magnetization direction is varied so as to create regions of high magnetic field gradient in the fluid, a stopper configured to concentrate spatially the particles attracted to the array, and a reader including a source configured to excite the particles concentrated by the stopper and a detector configured to capture a particle excitation signature emitted by the magnetic particles. A method for observing a subterranean reservoir penetrated by a production well and two or more injection wells is also disclosed.

Injection well identification using tracer particles

A technique that is usable with a well includes deploying a plurality of location markers in a passageway of the well and deploying an untethered object in the passageway such that the object travels downhole via the passageway. The technique includes using the untethered object to sense proximity of at least some of the location markers as the object travels downhole, and based on the sensing, selectively expand its size to cause the object to become lodged in the passageway near a predetermined location.

Self-locating downhole devices

A procedure and device for electric energy generation from electrochemical use of substances for powering downhole devices and a procedure and device for electric energy generation from nuclear decay for powering downhole devices. The types of devices being powered are untethered or otherwise cannot benefit from direct power transmission from the surface.

Downhole electrical energy conversion and generation

An actuator is provided for reconfiguring a reversibly expandable structure, also referred to as a deployable structure. The deployable structure includes an enclosed mechanical linkage capable of transformation between expanded and collapsed configurations while maintaining its shape. An actuator coupled to the deployable structure provides a load, force or torque for actuating a transformation. The actuated deployable structure transfers the actuation force to an external body substances, or element in contact with the deployable structure. The force can be directed inwardly or outwardly depending upon direction of the transformation (i.e., expanding or contracting). The force provided by the deployable structure can be used to perform work by its application over at least a portion of the distance traveled by a perimeter of the deployable structure during its transformation. In some embodiments, the actuatable deployable structure is lockable structure supporting a static load.

System and methods for actuating reversibly expandable structures

An apparatus and method for preventing the migration of unconsolidated and/or loosely consolidated material into the wellbore. Such prevention is accomplished by introducing a well treatment comprising an expandable deployable structure into an uncosolidated zone proximate the wellbore. These deployable structures are inserted into the voids of the geological formation and using stored mechanical energy convert from an unexpanded or undeployed state to an expanded or deployed state. These deployable structures can exert forces, pressure or a combination of both in multiple directions on the surrounding media.

Apparatus and method for sand consolidation

An expandable structure for passive deployment in a well. The structure may be locked in a position determined by the inner dimensions of the well in which it is deployed. Practical uses for the structure may include production tubing or a host of other devices for affixing downhole with a final diameter as determined by the inner diameter of the well. Additionally, the structure may be configured for advancement to a targeted well location while in a collapsed state. Thus, upon deployment, subsequent structures may be advanced through the expanded/deployed structure. As such, affixed structures may be deployed downhole in both top-down and bottom-up fashions without concern over a prior deployed structure obstructing subsequent structure deployment downhole thereof.

The subject matter describes a tactile sensing device comprising an end effector and a control unit. The control unit is capable of receiving tactile information from the at least one end effector. The device enables a user to identify and relatively quickly map the shape and location of unknown surfaces.

Method and apparatus for deploying and using self-locating downhole devices

A subsea vertical glider robot which supports deployment in subsea oilfield activities is disclosed. This vertical glider robot can also be used in oceanographic research exploration. One application of this vertical glider robot is the autonomous delivery of equipment and sensor systems to a precise predetermined location on the sea floor. The vertical glider robot is deployed from a surface ship or any other suitable sea surface platform and allowed to free fall to the bottom of the ocean. The traversal through the body of water is performed primarily by converting initial potential energy of the apparatus into kinetic energy, it does not use propellers. The traversing of the seafloor is controlled with a steering module that refines orientation while processing information about the vertical glider robot's current position and the target where it has to land.

Vertical glider robot

An underwater operations support system facilitates underwater exploration, monitoring, maintenance and construction operations associated with development of natural resources. The operations support system may include energy generation subsystems, energy accumulation subsystems, communication subsystems, docking stations, repair and maintenance robots, housings for divers, and video subsystems. Supported equipment includes ROVs, HROVs, AUVs, and other autonomous and semi-autonomous mobile robots which move materials, perform manual tasks, and survey the environment. Operational efficiency is enhanced by recharging, repairing and reconfiguring vehicles, and transferring data and commands between vehicles and a control station, without moving the vehicle to and from the surface, and without need for a surface ship to remain on site for the duration of operations.

Subsea operations support system

Electrical energy is produced at a remote site by converting kinetic energy from the environment. The kinetic energy may include vibrations and flow of fluid. In some embodiments the kinetic energy causes magnets to move with respect to coils in order to produce electrical energy. An anchor holds the device in place, and permits the device to be retrieved or relocated. A flexure or compliant membrane that helps determine the position of the magnets with respect to coils is defined by mechanical properties that permit oscillatory movement in response to the inputted kinetic energy. The device can be tuned to different vibration and flow regimes in order to enhance energy conversion efficiency. Further, the device may be mounted in a secondary flow path such as a side package or annular tube.

Harvesting energy in remote locations

Systems and processes are provided for safely facilitating transfer of down-hole devices through an adaptive seal assembly capping a well under pressure. At least one dynamic seal is provided having a size and shape to accommodate varying cross section of an elongated down-hole device, such as a logging tool. The adaptive seal assembly includes a mating flange for coupling its open end to a reversibly sealable wellhead fixture. A pressure is maintained along a wellbore side of the reversible seal, while the aperture is varied according to the varying cross section of the down-hole device as it is translated along the axis. More than one dynamic seals can be actuated in a controlled sequence to apply axial thrust in a preferred direction to the tool. One or more robotic systems can be provided to further expedite manipulation of at least one of the tool and the vessel.
