The invention relates to a timepiece component made of composite material including at least one reinforcement and one matrix, the reinforcement having a three-dimensional honeycomb structure with a plurality of cells into which the matrix is injected. The invention also concerns a method for manufacturing such a timepiece component.

A decorative item made from a moulded material having a density of between 2 and 7 g/cm, wherein the moulded material includes by weight: 60 to 90% of a metallic or ceramic material having a density higher than or equal to 5 g/cm, 10 to 32% of a plastic material including a thermoplastic resin and a coupling agent, 0 to 8% of a reinforcement, 0 to 3% of a pigment. Also, a method of manufacturing this decorative item by injection moulding.

Decorative item made of a heavy composite material

A method of manufacturing an inlaid ceramic element for a timepiece including: a) forming a ceramic or cermet body; b) etching at least one recess in one face of the ceramic or cermet body, each at least one recess forming a pattern cavity for a decoration; c) changing a surface state of a bottom of the at least one recess to increase contact surface thereof; d) filling the at least one recess with a composite ceramic to form the decoration; e) flattening the composite ceramic so that the composite ceramic remains only in a hollow of the at least one recess.

A method for fabricating a part with relief, wherein portions in relief are at least partially coated with a decorative layer. The method a) forms the body of the part; b) selectively alters the surface state of the body of the part to change the adherence thereof locally relative to the decorative layer; c) directly deposits the decorative layer over the entire body; d) removes the portions of the deposited layer which have not adhered to the body of the part. The method can be utilized in decorating timepieces.
