The invention pertains to a gyromagnetic device such as an insulator, operating at ultra-high frequencies (1-40 GHZ). The assembling of gyromagnetic devices requires high-precision positioning, generally obtained by bonding. In the isolator of the invention, the conducting core and the two ferrite wafers are held by two internal ground plates which form a positioned assembly, one of the plates being provided with tongues which position the parts and which fit into slits in the other ground plate. The assembling is done by stacking, inside the casing, a pressure washer, the magnet, the pre-positioned assembly and the base plate, and by closing the device with a single electric weld.

Method for assembling a miniaturized gyromagnetic device

An microwave device of the diode-operated amplitude modulator or switch type is disclosed. The ring is formed by a source of symmetrical currents which powers the diodes connected to a load. When the diodes are off, they show a capacitance which gives a reactive current. To improve isolation or attenuation, the current in the load must be zero. This is obtained by mounting, on diagonals of the ring, two capacitors which give two currents that are equal and opposite to the two reactive currents.

Ring-mounted microwave device

A miniaturized and integrated gyromagnetic device in which a center conductor is mounted between a pair of dielectric wafers and ferrite conductors to define a circular inner configuration. A pressure washer is welded to a square casing and mounts a magnet, the wafers, ferrite conductors and a pair of ground plates to absorb thermal expansion during operation.

Miniaturized gyromagnetic device

A device for coupling between an electromagnetic surface wave device (OSEL), operating in a symmetrical field distribution mode and an external microstrip line operating in a disymmetric mode. Coupling between the access microstrip to the surface wave device and the external microstrip is provided by means of three line elements made from dielectric materials, held in position by three non magnetic metal parts, forming a transition between symmetric and disymmetric modes in steps:
