Provided are devices, systems and methods for rate matching and de-rate matching on digital signal processors. In one embodiment, a device for rate matching and de-rate matching, includes an interface for receiving a plurality of blocks of data and digital signal processor configured to pre-compute permutation parameters common to the plurality of blocks, wherein the plurality of blocks are subject to a set of given puncturing parameters and receive a set of pre-computed puncturing thresholds. For one or more blocks in the plurality of blocks, the DSP computes a block signature from the pre-computed puncturing thresholds; matches the block signature to one of a set of pre-computed zone signatures, derives a zone index corresponding to the one pre-computed zone signature, and applies pre-computed permutation and puncturing transformations corresponding to the zone index to the block.

Rate matching and de-rate matching on digital signal processors

Provided are systems and methods for rate matching and de-rate matching on digital signal processors. For example, there is a system for rate matching and de-rate matching, where the system includes a memory configured to contain a plurality of blocks of data, and a digital signal processor configured to pre-compute permutation parameters common to the plurality of blocks, wherein the plurality of blocks are subject to a set of given puncturing parameters. The digital signal processor is configured to process each block in the plurality of blocks by computing a block signature from pre-computed puncturing thresholds, matching the block signature to one of a set of pre-computed zone signatures, deriving a zone index corresponding to the one matched pre-computed zone signature, and applying pre-computed permutation and puncturing transformations corresponding to the zone index to the block.

A system, method and apparatus, provide for the utilization of the MIMO technique with single-antenna communication devices that maximize high-speed broadband communication. The apparatus includes a wireless communication interface (WCI) device configured to exchange wireless signals with a base station through a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) air interface and to exchange a corresponding set of wireless signals with an access terminal through a wideband air interface having a greater bandwidth than the bandwidth of the MIMO air interface. The system includes a plurality of WCI devices communicating with the base station and exchanging corresponding signals with the access terminal.

Apparatus, system and method for providing a multiple input/multiple output (MIMO) channel interface

A system and method for broadcasting content data to a plurality of mobile devices. The content data is arranged into data blocks, and each data block is broadcast using an initial set of rateless transmission symbols. Mobile devices that did not receive a sufficient number of initial symbols respond with a no acknowledgment ('NACK') message, and a NACK rate for the broadcast system is monitored. Responsive to the NACK rate, additional symbols may be broadcast or otherwise transmitted to mobile devices, and, the NACK rate is used to determine when to terminate transmission of additional symbols for a particular data block. An initial set of symbols for the next data block may be transmitted concurrently with the additional symbols for one or more previous data blocks. The NACK rate may also be used as feedback to the broadcast system to adjust the transmission scheme.

System and method for broadcasting data over a wireless network using rateless codes

A system for embedding auxiliary digital information into a primary digital signal to form a composite digital signal. Auxiliary data bits modulate a pseudo-random (e.g., PN) sequence to provide an auxiliary data sequence used to modify the Least Perceptually Significant Bits (LPSBs) of successive multi-bit samples of the primary signal. In a cross-term compensation embodiment, a correlation between the PN sequence and the sample bits is determined, and compared to the auxiliary data bits to determine whether there is a desired correspondence. The LPSBs in the samples are toggled, if necessary, to provide the desired correspondence. The selection of LPSBs to modify accounts for a desired noise level of the auxiliary data in the primary signal. LPSBs may be modified based on a sparse PN sequence to achieve the desired noise level and conceal the presence of the auxiliary data.

Digital hidden data transport (DHDT)

A system for embedding auxiliary digital information (D ) into an existing primary digitally encoded signal (X ) to form an unobjectionable composite digital signal (C ). Auxiliary data bits (D ) modulate a pseudo-random (e.g., PN) sequence ( ) to provide an auxiliary data sequence ( ) that is used to modify the Least Perceptually Significant Bits (LPSBs) ( ) of successive multi-bit samples ( ) of the primary signal. Digital system for embedding a pseudo-randomly modulated auxiliary data sequence in digital samples

A system and method for the detection of zero-rate communication frames on forward and reverse communication links is described herein. In a first embodiment, the rate determination process begins upon receiving pilot and traffic channel signals. The system then compares the received traffic channel energy with the pilot signal to obtain a metric. The metric is then compared with a predetermined threshold to detect the presence of a zero-rate traffic channel frame. In a second embodiment, the process begins with the receipt of a reverse communication link frame having first and second portions. The system then detects the energy contained in the first and second portions. The system compares the detected energy in the first portion with the detected energy in the second portion to obtain a metric. The system then compares the metric with a predetermined threshold to detect the presence of the zero-rate frame. The selection of the predetermined threshold in both embodiments is based on the probability of detection of a transmitted zero-rate frame and the probability of erroneously detecting a zero-rate frame.
