Interaction is provided between a first content set and a second content set, both of which are loaded into a data structure. When an event associated with loading of the second content set is detected, the second content set is parsed to identify at least one sub-set of the second content set. The identified sub-set is checked against a first data set associated with the first content set to determine whether the identified sub-set matches the first data set. If a match is found, an action associated with the least one identified sub-set is executed and the data structure is modified.

Providing interaction between a first content set and a second content set in a computer system

A method, apparatus and computer program for a search engine to rank a set of pages returned as search results from a search query. The search query and a first origin page are received. The search query includes one or more keywords and the first origin page is chosen based on information associated with the search query. A set of results is generated based on the one or more keywords. The click distance from the first origin page to each page in the returned set is then calculated. The click distance represents the number of intermediate pages that a user would need to traverse in order to progress from the first origin page to a page in the set of search results. The set of search results are then ranked based on the calculated click distance from the first origin page to a page in the set of results.

When an email server has a message from a sender to multiple recipients with an attachment file, an attachment application is activated. The attachment application stores preferences of email users for online storage locations. The method carried out extracts details of an email sender and recipients for the email message to be sent with an attachment file and compares the email sender and recipients with the stored preferences for online storage locations to select a common online storage location for the sender and recipients. A directory is created at the common online storage location for uploading the attachment file to the selected online storage location and the address of the attachment file at the selected online storage location is added to the email message. If a common online storage location is not available, a new account can be generated for the recipients at an online storage location.

Provided are methods, apparatus and computer programs for tracking the origins of data and controlling transmission of the data. In one embodiment, transmission of sensitive data by script operations is limited, to prevent transmission to any network location other than to the source of that sensitive data, by a new function within a scripting engine of an HTTP client that is responsive to origin tags placed within the data. Origin tags that are associated with data inputs are propagated to any output data items, so that transmission of derived information can also be controlled.

Mechanisms for generating a set of one or more elements of a fingerprint for a document, the document comprising a semantic construct having one or more ordered words, are provided. With these mechanisms, a range of sizes for a fingerprint element is defined and ordered words of the semantic construct are divided into a set of one or more mutually exclusive fingerprint elements. Each of the one or more mutually exclusive fingerprint elements includes a number of adjacent words, the number being within the range of sizes for a fingerprint element. Responsive to a determination that the set of mutually exclusive fingerprint elements excludes a word from the semantic construct, the excluded word is discarded.
