A scissors actuator is configured to translate a support platform in either of opposed lateral directions with respect to a base frame and includes a first arm, a second arm, wherein the first and second arms are rotatably connected at intermediate positions between their respective first and second ends, the first arm is pivotably attached at its first end to the base frame, and the second arm and is pivotably attached at its second end to the support platform. A first slide is disposed within a first linear track formed in the support platform and includes a bearing protruding from a side of the first slide for rolling contact with a side of the first linear track formed in the support platform. The first arm is pivotably and translatably attached at its second end to the support platform by the first slide. A second slide is disposed within a second linear track formed in the base frame and includes a bearing protruding from a side of the second slide for rolling contact with a side of the second linear track formed in the base frame. The second arm is pivotably and translatably attached at its first end to the base frame by the second slide.

A gaming machine includes a base, a columnar pedestal extending vertically from the base, and a button deck adjustably coupled to the pedestal. The button deck includes an upper surface including a transparent touchscreen element, a lower surface opposite the upper surface, and a button deck body extending therebetween. At least one of the lower surface and the body include one or more transparent display elements, the one or more transparent display elements are configured to generate images of gaming machine control actuators viewable on the upper surface. The transparent touchscreen element is configured to receive touches and gestures indicating control inputs. The invention provides a physiological probe that comfortably attaches to the base of the patient's thumb, thereby freeing up their fingers for conventional activities in a hospital, such as reading and eating. The probe, which comprises a separate cradle module and sensor module, secures to the thumb and measures time-dependent signals corresponding to LEDs operating near 660 and 905 nm. The cradle module, which contains elements subject to wear, is preferably provided as a disposable unit.

Devices and methods for mobility assistance are disclosed. The disclosed features may assist a person with movement by providing support for the person as the person moves. Further, features for easily storing and transporting items in various compartments of the device are disclosed. Support of the user and/or items may be provided by a lightweight composite structure that further allows for free movement of the user, such as taking full strides while walking or running. The device may further be repeatedly configured between collapsed and deployed configurations via a locking mechanism and an actuatable release. Pivotable joints allow the various sections to be stowed into a smaller, collapsed configuration that is easily carried or otherwise transported, as well as deployed into a larger, deployed configuration for assistance while moving.
