A driver is provided for driving at least two sets of solid state lighting elements. A switched capacitor power converter is provided, and a switch arrangement is used for selectively connecting a first set and a second set of solid state lighting elements in series connection at the output of the power converter or connecting the first set of solid state lighting elements at the output of the power converter without the second set of solid state lighting elements. A first duty cycle of the switched capacitor power converter and a second duty cycle control of the switch arrangement are both controlled. In this driver design, a switched capacitor power converter and a switch arrangement are independently controlled using a duty cycle approach. The switched capacitor power converter is used to provide current control, and the switch arrangement is used to control whether the second set of lighting elements is connected to the output or not.

Driver and method for driving at least two sets of solid state lighting elements

Power conversion device for supplying a load with a PWM signal, comprising an inductive filter having at least an output configured to be connected to the load, the device comprising: a power conversion module supplied by an input voltage and configured for providing a plurality of output signals wherein one of the plurality of output signals is supplied to the filter; a conversion ratio control stage coupled to the power conversion module; and a controller configured to: determine a requested conversion ratio based on the input voltage and a target reference voltage; and based on the requested conversion ratio, control the conversion ratio control stage to operate in either a first operating mode, whereby the power conversion module provides the output signals in accordance with a first conversion ratio, or a second operating mode, whereby the power conversion module provides the output signals in accordance with a second conversion ratio.

Light emitting diode driver with differential voltage supply

A system comprising a driver circuit wherein the driver circuit comprises a converter. The system further comprises a controller operable to control a ratio between an input voltage supplied to the driver circuit and a target output voltage to be output from the driver circuit by varying a pulse width modulated signal, and by switching between operating modes of said converter. The controller is configured to determine that the driver circuit is operating in an undesired state caused by a combination of the duty cycle and the operating mode of the converter. The system further comprises a resistance adjustment circuit configured to adjust an equivalent output resistance of the driver circuit in response to the controller determining that the driver circuit is operating in an undesired state.

The current invention relates to a power conversion device (), for supplying a load () with a PWM signal through an inductive output filter ().
