The present invention proposes a method for transmitting data in a communication network, said communication network comprising at least one call control entity (CSCF) for controlling calls to be established from a subscriber (A, B) to a communication destination (B, A), a service control entity (SCP) for controlling services provisioned in said network for a respective subscriber, and a detection entity (DP) adapted to detect at least one of a plurality of predetermined conditions occurring in said network; said method comprising the steps of: forwarding a signaling message from said subscriber (A) to said at least one call control entity (CSCF) for being further forwarded to said destination (B), said signaling message comprising a message header and a message body, said message header including information descriptive for a content carried in the message body, detecting the occurrence of said at least one predetermined condition, and in case the occurrence of said predetermined condition has been detected, sending information concerning the content carried in the message body of said signaling message to said service control entity (SCP). Also, the present invention proposes a communication system comprising a call control entity (CSCF) controlling calls to be established from a subscriber (A, B) to a communication destination (B, A), a service control entity (SCP) controlling services provisioned in a network for a respective subscriber, wherein said system is adapted to operate according to the above method, and also a call control entity and a service control entity as such.

Method for transmitting data in a communication network

A communication network comprising at least an application server means (APSE), a subscriber information register means (HSS), a call state control functional entity (CSCF), and a service portal (SP), wherein the application server means (APSE) is connected to the service portal (SP) and to the call state control functional entity (CSCF), the service portal is further connected to the home subscriber server means (HSS), and the subscriber information register means (HSS) is further connected to the call state control functional entity (CSCF). In connection with the proposed network architecture, methods for handling service scripts within the network with regard to creation and storage of service scripts, provisioning the service scripts for a user, distribution of the scripts in the network and execution of the scripts during call processing are also described.

Network architecture and methods for service script execution and management

The present invention proposes a method for processing an information request in a communication network, wherein a requesting side contacts a first element of said communication network and sends a request for specific information of a subscriber, said method comprising the steps of receiving a request for subscriber specific information, processing the rest for said subscriber specific information, wherein in said processing a second network element is triggered, checking by said second network element, whether a permission for releasing said subscriber specific information to said requesting side is present, and, if a permission for releasing is present, forwarding said subscriber specific information to said requesting side, and if no permission for releasing is present, refusing the request for said subscriber specific information. The present invention also proposes a corresponding device and/or system. The present invention enables a consultation of the subscriber whether he/she permits a release of information concerning him/her, e.g. by using an intelligent network environment.

Method for enabling a user to be notified of his/her positioning requests

The present invention relates to a telecommunications system and method for providing a plurality of services, the services providing control for communication via the telecommunications system. The system comprises a switching point for triggering one or more services of said plurality of services for a communication. Each of the services may reserve at least one control characteristic. A service manager connected to the switching point is arranged to determine if at least two services can be provided for the communication based on information relating to control characteristics of said at least two services. A new service can be started only if the control characteristics it requires are not reserved by a previously invoked service. A service manager for use in a telecommunication system for managing the plurality of services is also disclosed.

The invention relates to selection of the implementation of a service, and particularly to selection of the implementation of a supplementary service in a mobile communication system, in a situation where a user can use different terminals the properties of which vary. In the solution of the invention, at least two different implementations are defined for a service, the terminal requirements of which differ from each other. The implementation of the service is selected (, and) on the basis of the properties of the terminal used. Thus the implementation of the services is made as optimal and flexible as possible by implementing each service function at the most useful location considering the properties of the terminal and network.

Selection of service implementation

The presentation of information identifying a calling user of a terminal device (MS-A) to a called terminal device (MS-B) in a communication involving a radio access network is triggered upon receipt of an incoming call; if triggered, the information is presented to a user at a man machine interface (MMI) of the terminal device; a user input is collected via the man machine interface (MMI) in response to the presentation, and the received call is controlled according to the collected user input. It becomes advantageously possible to initiate a retrieval procedure for calling party identifying information while the call is being controlled by a service control device and prior to the routing of the call to the called terminal device.

Method for call control in intelligent networks

A time-dependent hyperlink is associated with a video of a content server. The time dependent link is cross-referenced with coordinates and time that it appears in the video. A user may select the time-dependent hyperlink by selecting the hyperlink when is displayed by the video. The coordinates of the selection, including time, are used to determine the hyperlink that was selected. The browser being used can then be switched to a new session indicated by the hyperlink.

A method of configuring an intelligent network service over a user interface of a mobile station. The mobile station (MS) comprises an extension layer (MEXE) to support routines to be installed. The mobile station is loaded (-) with a configuration routine of the intelligent network service in question. The extension layer (MEXE) receives an input (-) through the configuration routine in order to configure the intelligent network service. On the basis of the input, the mobile station (MS) transmits configuration information to a mobile services switching centre (MSC) in a configuration message (-). The mobile services switching centre (MSC) recognized the configuration message (-) and transmits at least the essential part thereof to a service control point (SCP). The service control point (SCP) interprets the configuration information included in the configuration message (-) and configures the intelligent network service.

Configuration of intelligent network service

The invention relates to a method and a network node for providing a packet-switched network user with a service via the intelligent network. In the packet network, a session is established for routing functionality of packets originating from and terminating at the user when the user registers to the network. To implement the services according to the intelligent network principles, a control record (SR) for the session is added to the packet network node(s) which control record recognises the events which trigger the connection to the intelligent network. Alternatively, the control record can be formed when the user activates the Packet Data Protocol PDP context.

Charging control of telecommunication network subscriber

A packet switching control system and method are described, for controlling a packet switched connection between a subscriber terminal and an end terminal identified by a connection endpoint identification in a communication network. A subscriber-specific screening list for a plurality of connection endpoint identifications is provided, wherein an subscriber-specific screening control of the packet switched connection is performed on the basis of the screening list. The screening list may contain detection point settings for an IN interrogation so as to provide an interworking function between the IN and the packet network. Moreover, the screening list may include a charging information to thereby define different charging parameters for packet connections to different connection endpoints. This enables the subscriber to define price limits for predetermined connections.

A method of maintaining a connection between an intelligent network control point and a switching point in a telecommunications system, and a telecommunications system. A service connection between a control point and a switching point is provided with an identifier. Charging method in telecommunications network

A database is formed for providing two intelligent network services in connection with the same call, the database comprising data on the mutual compatibility of the different intelligent network services. In connection with each such call which involves at least one first intelligent network services and one second intelligent network service, an exchange receives the data on the first intelligent network services. If this data is sufficient for arming detection points, the exchange arms the detection points from which the first intelligent network services will be activated if the activation criteria are met during the call. The exchange also determines the data for arming a second detection point from which the second intelligent network service will be activated if the activation criteria are met during the call. The exchange examines the compatibility of the second intelligent network service with the first intelligent network services on the basis of the compatibility database and uses the result of the examination to route the call.
