The object of the invention is a ratchet wheel pipette having a body and in it a cylinder (3) and a piston (12) and a filling and dispensing arrangement to draw liquid into the cylinder and to dispense it in smaller portions with the aid of the piston. The pipette has a push rod (11) as an extension of the piston, a transmission wheel (6) in mesh with the push rod, a ratchet wheel (5) having a larger diameter than the transmission wheel and rotating with it and having a peripheral engaging surface, such as gears, and, journaled on the same shaft as the ratchet wheel, a dispensing lever (9) which is movable between an upper position and a lower position and with an attached pawl (10) engaging the engaging surface of the ratchet wheel, so that when the dispensing lever moves downwards, beginning at a certain point of the movement, the pawl engages the engaging surface of the ratchet wheel and forces the ratchet wheel and thus also the transmission wheel to rotate, and so that when the dispensing lever moves upwards the pawl does not rotate the ratchet wheel. The pipette can be used in laboratories, for instance to dispense samples or reagents.

Ratchet pipette

A piston pipette having pulling equipment for moving a piston upward and pushing equipment for moving the piston downward. The pushing equipment has a movable gripping device (5), which when moving downward is attached to the piston and transfers the piston downward, and a movable transfer device (4) extending below the gripping device. According to the structure a pipette is obtained which is gripped a pen-shape handle and with which liquid can be dosed to a desired place as exactly as possible.

A pipette provided with a tip remover, which pipette has a lever mechanism, in which the tip is pressed off the pipette. In this way, it has been possible to decrease the force needed for the loosening.

A step pipette, which has a dosing rack and therein a dosing toothing, a strike meshing with the dosing toothing, a filling rack connected with the dosing rack by a gear, a striker spring as well as a release member for releasing the tension of the striker spring after the last full-lenght stroke. The solution ensures that also the last liquid dose is always full.

The invention concerns a cuvette matrix and its tray. The matrix comprises adjacent cuvettes (2) connected with one another by flexible connecting elements (3). The tray has an aperture (8) for each well, with a flexible clamping element (9).

The invention relates to an electrically operable pipette comprising a body member with upper and lower portions and a removable flanged cylinder assembly coupled to the lower portion of the body member via its flange. The cylinder assembly has confined in it, a piston which is vertically displaced by a motor confined in the body member, an adjustable limiter being provided for varying the stroke length of the piston and hence the volume of liquid displaced.

Dosage equipment

The invention relates to a washing device for cuvette sets. The cuvette set is placed into a holder (11) in a rotor (10). The washing liquid is removed from the cuvettes by rotating the rotor.

Washing device

Diluting dosage device, in which there is a dilution-liquid cylinder (20), a sample cylinder (30), a press knob (2), and a blocking valve (21). When the knob is depressed, the blocking valve is closed and the pistons (16 and 15) in the cylinders move rearwards, whereat dilution liquid flows into the dilution-liquid duct (2), and a certain quantity of sample into the sample duct (23). When the press knob is returned, the blocking valve is opened and the pistons push the sucked sample and a certain quantity of the dilution liquid out through the tip (7).

A set of cuvettes wherein the measurement windows (5) are in the bottom of the cuvettes and surrounded by a matt-faced area (8). The matt-faced area eliminates the access of diffused light to the detector of the photometer.

The subject of the invention is a pipette which comprises a frame portion (1) shaped as a handle, a cylinder being formed inside the frame portion (1), as well as a piston (5) fitted into the cylinder by means of a seal ring (7), a piston rod (4) connected to the piston (3), as well as a press knob (5) with shaft (6), fitted at the upper end of the frame portion (1). Around the shaft (6) of the press knob (5), a calibration sleeve (9) is fitted by means of a threaded joint (8), by means of which calibration sleeve (9) the lower limit of the movement of the piston (3) during pipetting can be determined. According to the invention, the calibration sleeve (9), as surrounded by the mantle (10) of the hollow press knob (5) and by the upper part of the pipette frame (1), is placed at a distance both from the mantle (10) of the press knob (5) and from the inner face of the cover of the upper part of the pipette frame (1). Thereby the hollow press knob (5) and the pipette frame (1) form a cover protecting from conducted heat and allow a space of air around the adjustment and calibration sleeve (9).

A method and apparatus for washing the solid annular pieces used in immune methods, i.e. the so-called EIA-rings, and for coating such rings with a reagent, as well as for the dispensing of the rings. The EIA-rings are fitted, one after the other, into a tubular container part, which is open at both ends. To the bottom end of the container part an intake tip is attached, and to the other end a device for drawing and exhausting a liquid through the intake tip into the container part. The container part enclosing the EIA-rings is then sealed at both ends until the upper end of the container part is opened for dispensing the rings. The opened end is connected to a dosage device, the intake tip of the container part is removed and the EIA-rings are dispensed by means of the device.

A pipette comprising a handle portion, whose upper end is provided with a press knob with shaft and inside which a piston rod is fitted. To the bottom end of the piston rod is connected a piston or, by the intermediate of a common actuating means of the pistons, several pistons and, for each piston, a cylinder part, which is fastened to the frame construction of the handle portion. The piston rod and the press knob shaft, which are parallel to each other, are placed at a distance from each other, and their surfaces facing each other are shaped as jointly operative with a cogwheel or friction wheel fitted between them and journalled on the handle portion by means of a shaft. Then, when the press knob is depressed, by the intermediate of the press knob shaft, of the cogwheel or friction wheel, and of the piston rod, the piston or the pistons in each cylinder portion can be shifted from the lower position into the upper position so as to suck liquid into the tip vessel connected to each cylinder portion. A freewheel is stationarily fitted inside the cogwheel or friction wheel, or a freewheel is fitted inside an operating means mounted on the shaft of the cogwheel or friction wheel, such as, for example, a dosage lever. The freewheel is coupled to its shaft in one direction so that, when the shaft is turned back and forth by means of the operating means, such as the dosage lever mounted on the shaft, repeated depressions of the operating means, such as the dosage lever, produce shifting of the piston rod stepwise downwards while the pivoting angle of the operating means, such as the dosage lever, determines the magnitude of the dose to be removed at a time from the tip vessel or tip vessels.

Pipette

A multi-dose pipette which comprises a body constituting the handle portion, a cylinder portion or piston chamber with a tip tube, fitted at the bottom end of the said body, a main piston fitted into the cylinder portion or piston chamber. The main piston can be pressed down by means of a press knob and a piston rod against the spring force of a spring and is by a spring returned to the upper position. In addition to the main piston, the pipette also comprises a dose piston with its piston chamber. The maximum stroke volume of the main piston is essentially larger than the stroke volume of the dose piston. The piston chamber of the main piston and the dose piston are connected to each other by means of a channel. The end of the piston chamber of the dose piston facing towards the piston rod is provided with a valve which is fitted so that it opens itself and admits air through the valve into the piston chamber at the upper position of the dose piston. The other end of the piston chamber of the dose piston is provided with a counter-valve which is fitted so that it opens itself and admits air through the valve from the piston chamber of the dose valve into the piston chamber of the main piston at the lower position of the dose piston. By means of repeated movements of the dose piston it is possible to pump precise doses of air into the piston chamber of the main piston. Correspondingly, subsequent liquid quantities of equal relative magnitude escape from the tip vessel.
