The invention relates to a hydrostatic traveling mechanism ( ) that comprises a closed hydraulic circuit ( ) in which a first hydraulic pump ( ) with a first hydraulic engine ( ) is linked with a flow pipe ( ) and a return pipe ( ). Said hydraulic engine ( ) drives the vehicle wheels ( ) of two first vehicle axles ( ). According to the invention, an additional open hydraulic circuit ( ) is used in which a second hydraulic engine ( ) and a third hydraulic engine ( ) are linked with a second hydraulic pump ( ) via a supply pipe ( ) and a control valve ( ). Said second hydraulic engine ( ) and said third hydraulic engine ( ) drive the vehicle wheels ( ) of a second vehicle axle ( ).
