The invention provides a working trough and a method for maintaining a uniform temperature of a working fluid. The working trough is applied to an electrical discharge machine that performs wire cutting using the working fluid. The method for maintaining a uniform temperature of the working fluid is applied to the working trough and characterized by forming opening structures in a receiving slot of the working trough such that a spiral swirl having a predetermined height is allowed to be formed in the working fluid, thereby maintaining a uniform temperature of the working fluid in the receiving slot when a wire cutting process is performed in the working fluid by the electrical discharge machine. The disturbance of the spiral swirl also facilitates the discharge of scraps. The present invention further has an advantage of low cost.

Working trough and method for maintaining uniform temperature of working fluid

A feed control method for wire cutting electrochemical discharge machining is disclosed. The method determines whether a contact event has occurred using a wire electrode, based on variations in wire tension when being cut. A wire is cut with an ideal feed speed when the wire electrode is not in contact with a workpiece.

A method for detecting and compensating electrode wear of electric discharge machining (EDM) is disclosed, which comprises the steps of: defining a calibration node; calculating a wear length of a tool electrode by an edge-finding algorithm; using the calculated wear length of the tool electrode as a cut compensation for compensating a machining depth of next new tool electrode replacing the previously machined tool electrode; whereas the machining depth is obtained according to the following formula: the machining depth=designed depth of cut+predicted wear of the tool electrode for machining to desire depth&#x2212;calculated wear length of the previously machined tool electrode+a through hole offset. With the aforesaid method, the wear of an used tool electrode can be detected automatically for compensating the machining depth of an unused tool electrode without ant additional equipment while achieving accurate machining.

The microelectrode machining device disclosed by the invention mainly comprises a platform, a wire supply mechanism, a wire guide, and two (electric conductor)elements, wherein the platform can be fixed at an EDM machine and the wire supply mechanism is arranged on the platform for providing the wire needed in the EDM process, and the wire guide disposed on the platform has an arch-slide arranged thereon and a groove arranged at a position corresponding to the middle of the arch-slide on the wire guide, in addition, the two (electric conductor)elements are arranged on the platform to supply the power needed in the EDM process, and the two (electric conductor)elements are disposed respectively at the side of wire guide, and the altitudes of the bottom of both the wheel-shaped (electric conductor)element are lower than that of the wire exit and wire entrance of the arch-slide of the wire guide, in respective. By the design of aforementioned structure, the wire supplied by the wire supply mechanism first passes through the bottom of the (electric conductor)element, and enters the arch-slide from the wire entrance and exits the same from the wire exit, and passes again through the bottom of another (electric conductor)element. In this way, the wire is subject to a minute downward suppressing force so that the wire can travel smoothly inside the arch-slide of the wire guide.

Microelectrode machining device

An automatic breakthrough detection device for drilling electric discharge machine is provided. The automatic breakthrough detection device utilizing the facts of the variations of high frequency spectrum components of the provided discharge voltage and the variation of servo-feed-rate of the electrode as drilling discharge. The device includes a high frequency spectrum detecting analyzer to produce digital logic determining signals and a breakthrough judging logic device to judge the breakthrough by the electrode on the workpiece. Accordingly, the drilling electric discharge machine automatically adjusts the discharge parameters and the electrode withdrawals from the drilled hole and continues the next drilling hole on the workpiece. The present invention also provides a method of the same.

Electrical discharge power supply modular device for electrical discharge machine

An apparatus and method is provided for use on an electric discharging machine to enhance the working efficiency of the electric discharging machine. The apparatus and method are directed to the control of the ignition delay time of the ignition voltage used to ignite the electric discharges applied to the workpiece for machining the workpiece. The apparatus and method are directed to the objective of making the duty factor as close to unity as possible. The apparatus and method are characterized in that the average discharge voltage is computed by the CNC (computer numerical control) unit instead of an analog voltage averaging circuit as in the prior art. The average discharge voltage is then used for the determination of the average ignition delay time to accordingly adjust the gain of the servo control loop of the discharging. The electric discharging machine then detects the ignition delay time to accordingly adjust the magnitude of the ignition voltage and the length of the discharge off-time. Moreover, the electric discharging machine is capable of detecting whether the number of consecutive occurrences of arcing reaches a preset number; if yes, the electric discharging machine will perform a residue cleaning process. Moreover, the electric discharging machine is capable of detecting whether a short-circuit occurs; and, if yes, the electric discharging machine will immediately stop the machining process.
